im down with that man. Ive got a completely different setup for 2009.
finishing up my propane swap this weekend and i got the precision turbo going on by march.
we should be really close.
starting this year we are starting a stick shift class at i-40 dragway. its heads up run wat u brung on dot approved tires. its stick shift cars only. you should come down.
its going to be once a month on friday night.
Propane=6's on the way!!

I have to run my et streets and not my MT drags? That sucks but I promise you I will make the trip at least once. I will be tuning my setup by the end of February so let me know. We will have similar output turbos with the HX35 and the SC61, both flow about 60lbs/min. I would like to throw out an invite to any nico member who thinks they can hang. ATL is just as close as I am (3 hour drive) and so is Bristol and JGY in western VA. Please come and get some!!!!!  I WOULD LOVE TO RACE A NEW GTR WITH THE TOP MOUNT! Ive already spanked a couple of C6 Z06's with my little 2871R!!

we are still making the rules for the class. im trying to get et streets legal. so will see how that that works out.
i agree we need more nico guys running with us.
my goal is to run with my buddy who has a turbo 302 mustang. he averages 6.80's but has ran the best of 6.60 with the 5speed.
my weakest link is my axles. im gonna have to upgrade to the driveshaft 1000hp axles when i start making around 600@ the wheels. im just a tight *** right now lol

how far is the nearest 1/4 mile track to you guys? 1/8 hardly seems like a race to me. i dunno. what gear are u in when u finish? 2nd?

i am about 3hrs away from a 1/4 mile track.
when i had the 17inch wheels on i would hit 4th gear.
now with the 15inch wheels i got i only get top end of 3rd gear.
but on my new setup i should be top end of 4th gear and about 110+mph in the 1/8th.

110 in the 1/8th??? That's a low 6 sec pass and a high 9 sec pass in the 1/4. If that's true I don't want any for sure but IMO that's a pipe dream!

im not playing around anymore lol. 9 sec 1/4 is what i plan on.
I have went 7.80's on stock turbo. so i figured with 250+ more hp i should easily be mid to low 6's.
i dunno how possible it is. But the guy at my local machine shop thats helping me with my propane swap has a set of scales were going to balance my car and im bracing the entire car and putting stops on my front end to set it on the bumper out of the lights  i have never seen a 240 do a wheelstand so thats my goal. I might crash n burn. but im sure gonna try.

So you are going to have a SC61 on a RB25 with propane injection right? You're thinking 600+whp, It should get in the mid to high 6's but it won't pull the tires.

somewere in that ball park man. I really dunno if it will pull the wheels or not. With the weight and suspension setup right it should. thats why i am putting it on 4 scales to get it pretty = balanced.
its not injected. ive got a propane carb on it. Its no longer powered by gas. Just propane only.
we are running a bunch of tests with it these next few weeks. ill be street tuning by wed and ill be on the dyno hopefully by next sat with the stock turbo setup. Then im going megasquirt ecu and the sc61 turbo.

I am thinking my SR will be capable of low 7's maybe high 6's in the 1/8th(low 11's maybe high 10's in the 1/4) with the holset top mount. I will have to go stand alone EMS and bigger injectors if I want to push over 25psi and 500whp. That is what it takes to get a streetable S chassis in the 10's at the track

yup gas tuning sucks!! thats why i went propane. I believe itss going to simplify all my tuning alot. plus the octain of gas is not wat it use to be. it really sucks now. vs the propane the octain is always the same and the fuel never goes bad. Im going to be running a bunch of tests with it these next few months ill let u know how it goes. it might be a better/ cheaper route for u also.

well i finished the entire propane swap yesterday. I went to start it to test drive it when all it would do is backfire. hmmm so i pulled the timing cover. its fine and in time. So i done a leak down test to find every cylinder 50-60% leakage. You can crank the psi up to 80 and it will seal up to 10%. So i gotta pull my head today and find out whatts up. I have had a cold starting problem since day 1. I just have not found the problem until I started using a vaper as fuel.
I hate this rb. If i had to do it over again it would be ls1 & 6speed.

Rb's are a pain in the a$$. I will go 2jz if I build another S chassis. You can buy JDN 2jzGTE from aristos or soarers for less than $2K and run 700+ whp on the stock bottom end with the right setup. I love my sr but it will never see 700whp on a reliable setup. 400whp on a stock SR block is like 800 on a 2jz.

Ya This Rb has been a pain from day 1.I took the head off today and found most all the valves have been leaking for a while now. After grinding them down there was 4 that was bent. So im putting a good valve job bck on them and porting the head while I got it down and it should be back to 100% . Maybe now this thing will crank cold easy. Ive seen a few 2jz's around here making some pretty good power. But in the end they are as expensive as a rb is.

stock r200 welded to full posi. I gotta upgrade to the 1000hp axles tho. But i wanna see what i can do on stock axles first. I have broke 2 sets but thats B/c i launched too hard. With my new setup I should be able to be a little easier on it out of the gate. Possibly a 4500-5000 launch vs my previous 5500-6400 i been trying.

I have a 4.36 skyline RB20 diff and I launch at 7000rpm on wrinkle walls and I've never broke an axel. The stock 6 bolt axels ar not near as strong as the J30, JDM, and Z32 5 bolt axels. I would suggest a change to a 4.36 R&P and the 5 bolt axels. I got mine from JHOT in GA. (706)364-5468. Ask for Gabe. My whole setup was less than $300. That's alot cheaper than the 1000hp axels and you will gain .2 with the 4.36 for sure and the car is easier to launch with the shorter gearing.

did the rear end just bolt in? Also is it 4 lug hubs or 5? if its a 5 lugs then ill have to change my rear wheels. Which isnt goin to be cheap either.
the 4.36 would prob help me in the 60ft for sure. Maybe get me to that 1.4 i want.
I will do some research when it becomes time to change it. thanks for the number ill give them a shout.

Yes they bolt right in and you don't have to change your hubs, just he axels and diff. They bolt up to the subframe just like your stock unit, unlike the J30 and Z32 diffs that require a bushing kit for the different snout. The only 4.36's were in the R32 skyline with the RB20 and the 180sx with the CA18. Gab will know what you need. I have a J30 3.91 with the ES bushings and a skyline 4.36. It takes less than a hour to swap with a helping hand.

are those a 1.5 limited slip? also what about the differential cover? don't they have to be swapped?
i think i would weld the gears up to make it a full posi. i hate the vlsd's.
thanks for the info. its gonna help me finish everything on my to do list lol. its gettin smaller tho.

The 4.36 is a direct bolt in, the snout and the rear cover are the same as you stock unit. With the J30 and Z32 diffs you have to swap the rear cover and get ES bushings for the snout to mount properly. Trust me I have both.

sweet man. thats prob what ill buy when it comes time to change it.
at the moment im still having engine problems.
got the head back on and it still wants to backfire. found that my 2step gizzmo launch control might be bad.
im ordering a megasquirt on monday and going to the ls2 truck coils and elliminating a bunch of problems.

im personally running stock struts & tein lowering springs with the rear springs modified. 1/2 a round cut out to lower the center of gravity.
On the stock struts and non modified tein I went 1.6 60' on Mt et streets & 340ish @ the wheels
Ill be making anywere from 500-620Whp this season so I hope to see some 6 sec passes !/8th mile and some 1.4 60's

Hey KentuckySlider i found a vid that might interest you. Just a little inspiration for your build. If he did this on a stock engine you should have no problem meeting your goal. Trying to figure out my new setup 1st. I made 372whp at 18psi on 93 pump gas but had some fueling issues. Got that fixed and will be back on the dyno this weekend with 25psi on 110 race gas.

Wow thats pretty good numbers for 18psi. Is that on the Holset turbo?Well Im gettin closer myself. I finally got my turbo on ( What a pain in the a$$) And I got My Megasquirt Finally wired. Im going to be on the dyno tuning the 25th. But I still have not put my rollcage in and I have not changed my rear end. So I still got alot of work ahead. Here is a few pics from last weekend,

My dd would be a good race with you,i made 372 on 18psi and pump gas also....waiting on the dyno to be repaired and i'm going back to see what i do with a 75 shot on 14lbs 
  Also,rb25drag...whats your bs on your welds??i plan on buying me some fronts and was wanting to know if your running a spacer or not?

Here is my latest dyno.....
 I'ts at 23-24psi on 110. My log mani is restrictive but I'm still trapping 95-96 in the 1/8th with it. I am going to Beech Bend in the next 2 weeks so I will have a new 1/4 mile slip for you. Let me know when you get yours going we can meet at NSS in nashville and do the 1/8th. It should be an equal distance for both of us.

Sounds like ur setup is coming together. HAve you ran 1/8th mile on ur new setup?
Im still in the fabricating stages again lol. I decided to chhange a few more things. I also have not got a new rear end. I cant find those rb20's. I might have to put a 9inch ford in it.
I will def meet you in nashville. I just dont know how long its gonna take me to finish.
I might be laid off in 3 weeks. So I might havve to put the project on the back burner if that happens.
