I currently have a 90 240sx hatch that has had a KA24DE swap from a 96 240sx. The car has been sitting in my garage for about a year and I am finally finding sometime for it. Unfortunately I did not do the swap so I'm not exactly sure what all has been performed but to my best judgement the ECU and wiring harness is still the one for the SOHC motor. My big question is if I wanted to update to a DOHC ECU what all would I have to do? I'm guessing its not just a plug and play situation, would I have to change the whole engine wiring harness or is there some type of "pigtail" plug set up I can buy that will re-adjust the current ECU harness pins to work with the newer DOHC ECU? I hope this makes sense and any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to change the entire engine/ecu harness.
