How much are you looking to spend on a car? With the fuel economy on some cars today, it doesn't make much sense to get a hybrid, depending on your driving situation. The altima 2.5 can get you upwards of 35 mpg on the highway, and still yield high 20's around town - other cars in the nissan lineup with the 2.5 or smaller engine do the same. These cars also have relatively low emissions, so they're not a big environmental issue.Honestly, it doesn't much financial sense to get a hybrid. If you are that concerned, consider waiting for cars like the Chevy Volt to come out, which are pure electric cars. They are a much better decision over the regular hybrids. However, if you are looking at buying say a Escalade Hybrid, this might help with your gas bill, and seeing your spending a lot anyway, the cost isn't that bad...
