Hi, all.

Here are some pictures of my 1995 Q45 from last weekend after a wash, clay bar treatment, another wash and then two coats of Zaino polish (I am still a bit sore from that!)

Car looked great ... till the ATF hit the road on Sunday evening!

Z

P.S. How do I get larger pictures to show up here? The limit of 300 pixels is frustrating!

Here is how deep and shiny the paint now looks - reflections are stunning.

I will post more pictures once I find out how to get some larger pictures here!

Looks marvelous!

I have the clay bar, but haven't alotted the time to do the process. I did the hood on my I30, and it about killed me.

Zaino's leather treatment is (IMO) far superior to Lexol. I'm very impressed with it.

Yes, clay bar is a painful process physically, although it does not take a lot of effort - a comfy chair helps! The whole process Took me most of last weekend. Started with a wash with Dawn dish-washing liquid and a careful dry. The clay bar of the whole car took about 3 hours - I decided to leave out the air-dam area as I was just too tired to lean over that far. The second wash was with the Zaino Z-7 wash. The Z-2 polish took me an hour to apply and another hour to take off per coat - with a wait of 12 hours between coats. I was sore from all that effort on Sunday evening!

Yes, G35 wheels with 245/45-17 tires to get near the stock diameter (just very slightly smaller) so the speedometer is not far off.

The interior color is a brownish color. I do not know what it is called - I just know I do not like it a lot, but then again, external or internal color is not too big a thing with me! :)

You will like it! A lot of work, but worth it. The pictures do not do it real justice - the surface now has a deep shine that is quite spectacular. I had a neighbour walk by the house last Saturday evening (with only one coat of the Z-2 polish) and they remarked that it looked like a new car. When told it was almost 9 years old, they could not believe it!

Zaino is good stuff. I recently did my J30 and the results were impressive.

I, too, am a HUGE believer in their product. You can't imagine the difference in your car until you actually use it as directed.

It's noticeable from 100 yards away, believe it or not.

I won't have enough time to do the entire car, but I'll try to test it out on the trunk top this weekend, maybe do a 1/2 and 1/2 before and after on it. Their clay bars are small...others I've seen are large enough to use with a random orbital buffer. No surprise you were sore the next day, Z!

Try 5 Star shine if you want the same results as Zaino but would rather have much longer protection.Click on our ad on the left side near the top and get the details. It will save you the time of having to reapply wax to keep your paint protected. Be sure to use the discount code!-Chadhttp://www.5starshine.com'Never wax your car again"

Chad, it looks like I would still do the clay bar treatment, to get rid of all the crap on my paint, now. Should I do anything about the small scratches, and door dings, or does the 5 Star products polish these away? What I have read, mostly talks about protection. I need some restoration, before I do some protection.

Thanks!

Hey Jeff, I would first go over your car with the clay bar and some paint cleaner such as 3M makes. (you can get it at pep boys, it's in a gray/black colored bottle) Some door dings can be made less apparent because alot of times the car that dinged you leaves its paint on your door. That paint can be buffed off with cleaner.

Scratches are more apparent at times because there is dirt built up within the scratch. Try the same thing with a clay bar or cleaner. I've had scratches almost disappear because of this.

5 Star will get most swirl marks out of a car but when it comes to deep scratches nothing will fix that except touch up or re-painting. Don't be fooled by products that say they will remove deep paint scratches. Many scratches just involve the clear coat and you CAN fix those for the most part.

Hope that helps! Whatever your time frame is, I hope that you give 5 Star a try.-Chad

Thanks, Chad. I have used the 3 step McGuires process (cleaner wax, polishing wax, then the carnuba wax) for a few years. I like the result, but it is not what I see from the pics of the Zaino sessions.

I am up for new things, so I will give it a try.
