I did a sh1tty job of installing them. and they didn't fit properly. I am going to get the CS lines and learn from my mistake the hard way.

but its exciting after all, It actually drove it for the first time, for all of 30 seconds. with no power steering, and the exhaust manifold not fully tightened. ( I was doing all of this, in public parking lot so I had to get out of there fast ).

here's my questions.

what are all the locations... on the exhaust side of the block, that coolant can leak from?

I already think its from the return coolant return line on the turbo that I just put in, because this problem is new - but I want to be sure.

the waterneck, the lines, expansion plugs (3 or 4 or them) maybe 5

you need to be really careful how you tighten them down though, that block being aluminum can strip those threads easy. You don't want to have to heli-coil or re-tap anything down there

Seeing as how both lines are on the exhaust side of the car, it could be either line. Either you didn't tighten the lines properly to the turbo or the line to the block. If you bought cheap eBay lines, they're probably leaking at the fittings.

this is a case of cheap eBay lines, and a possibly stripped tread on the oil send hole of the block.

Before I first put the motor in a friend removed the lines so he could access the motor mount brackets, and its caused a variety of problems, good friend but he just wasnt familiar.

circuit sports lines are on the way, and I may have to re tap the oil send thread.

when I took the banjo nut out, the thread around it was worn to a nub.

Did you happen to replace the copper washers on the banjo bolts? I had the same issue, real pain in the *** to have to go back just to replace the washers, but doing so cured all my leaks.

I used new washers but they came with my "made in china" ebay lines, so they may have been low quality.

when I get my circuit sports lines, ill get a new set, I dont think CS includes them.

The washers aren't special. They are just simple copper washers, go to your local parts store and bring your banjo. I believe with the CS set - you only need to use one of the banjo's (the oil line on the block) - so pick up some copper washers with similar amount of play and movement around the thread of the bolt. Slip em on and tighten it up.

definitely, I am going to put some lock tight around each fitting as well.

I hope people learn from me. especially if you found this while searching.

dont buy these lines

More assembly/pieces = more chances of leaking.

Compare that to these lines. Although it doesn't show washers, the kit does come with it.

absolutely, and also I dont feel that the bolts and various pieces are cast from the best quality metal, its low grade in every form.

I got my CS lines from Phase2motortrendthose guys are great. they'll be here friday.

Also did you guys here.... Trust/Greddy just filed for bankrupcy

I just installed C.S lines the other day, they came with washers, but they are not copper, I am thinking of using copper over the one's that are supplied once my engine is back from the machine shop.

here is a summary of the latest.

the leak was coming from the water inlet, the tread was mildy worn on one side, and It will require a thread chaser.

if anyone knows exactly the diameter and thread pitch I would be grateful.

I used a jewelery filer, with a fine type to lightly sand the one section of thread on the turbo's water inlet port. I used my left over banjo bolt to keep screwing in and testing if the threads were better. after about 20 careful and patient minutes I was able to screw the fitting all the way in.

there were alot of netal shards that I blew out by pushing water though the cartridge. one was crescent shaped and fairly long, which worried me, but luckily the test bolt I placed in wasnt too loose.

I added thread locker, and teflon tape and now its as tight as can be. Its sealed well and no leaks.

with care and patience, it is possible to restore damaged thread on a turbo's center housing.
