yesterday i was wiping my window, and maybe there was sand on my cloth or the window itself, and after a good rub and scrub...my window had swirl marks and long scratch lines

anyone know how much it cost to replace the corner window?

or how i can sand the window down and repolish it back to looking nice?

right now its not that noticable..but im not happy with the scratches at all...made my entire day ****ty

Try rubbing your window down with rubbing alcohol - i know that when i would get a scratch in my glasses, i would do this, and for a minor scratch, you might be able to get it out.

Another old wives tale for CD's is to rub smooth peanut butter on it - i have no experience in this, but it;s something i've heard...

if you run your fingernail over the scratch and it stops, then it means its too deep to fix.

wat if most of them are just visual scratches, not deep enough to feel?

you cant really "fix" scratched up glass. you can only temporary minimize the scratch by filling it up rubbing compound which is what i used. the only way to fix it is to take it to a professional to either buff the glass or replace it :/ but that is a whole lot of money just to get rid of some small hairline scratches. same thing happened to me when i was wiping my window, stupid sand. but try out to use rubbing compound on it, wait for it to dry and use a soft cloth and wipe the excess.

you can buy rubbing compound any where, even your local auto part store like pepboys, kragen, etc. I use the 3M rubbing compound.

check your materials... If that was a MF towel, this post could have been titled..

"how much for a full paintjob?"

It should buff out..

i know it was your window.. but like paint.. you need to check your materials!

When cleaning any part of something you care about, you want to REMOVE contaminents, not "sweep them around" lol..

Im really puzzled as to what it as that caused the marks, im trying to imagine what type of pressure you were using too... Even if it was something abrasive (sand, pebble etc) with the force needed to clean a window without bug guts on it , i am confused as to how it happened.

anyways, its a rear window, who cares... just hang, soon enough you will be able to get one from the yard for $25
