How bad is the road noise in your sport? Compared to a none sport model what has been your experience?

I don't know if I am being too sensitive or if the car is just noisy. My car just seems awful loud on the interior. Luckily the Bose sound system drowns it out!

I don't have an 06 but have driven in many of them. I have loved how quite the cabin is. Might wanna get your tires/alignment checked out. Just food for thought.

Depending on the tires that you have and the frequency in which they are rotated road noise may be heard. What is the current condition of your tires? A rotation and balance may be something to think about during your next service, an alignment may be good preventive maintenance.

I just installed new tires and had them balanced. New alignment also. It still seems loud to me.

I drove a M35 non sport and it was much more quiet.

The non sport and AWD use 18" rims with much softer tires with a larger sidewall and different shock, struts and springs. Sport tires are typically a bit louder and it rides much stiffer due to reinforced sidewalls and a different tread composition. What type of tires did you have installed?

Their sport tires are very noisey, I don't know what the difference in rubber composition is but I have seen several of those on Ms and coupes and they are all noisey. There isn't much you can do about that other than rotate them frequently.

Which Falken model though? What size tire did you put on? Is the load index correct for the weight of the car?

Okay. Load index is good. I guess they are just noisier than other models perhaps ...

I found that noise is directly correlated to the tread pattern and types of road surfaces... a tire that is quiet on asphalt might "scream" on concrete pavement.

I think Tire Rack also displays noise ratings in their reviews, but there is a huge difference, depending on brand and type (All Season versus Summer, etc.) Falken's are noisy; many of the aftermarket Korean tires are.

Michelin, Goodyear, Yokohamas and most Bridgestones will provide a quieter ride. Maybe your tire retailer will swap these out for you?
