When pressing MENU on the screen while listening to music in the music box, sometimes it lets me access all the menu items and sometimes it access only a partial list of menu items. I can still see the whole list of items, but I can't always select them.

This is intermittent. If I wait, some of them light up and let me select them for a few seconds, then it will go back to not letting me select them. There's no set pattern to this. I can't figure out why it is doing this but it's very frustrating, especially when I'm trying to "SEARCH BY" to find a particular artist or album.

Is something wrong with my system, or am I doing something wrong?

Please help!Armadagirl

What is this music box that you speak of? Factory, aftermarket, who makes it?

Music Box is the 9.3 Gig music hard drive that comes from the factory with the Armada upgraded radio and technology package.

If your transmission is in park,it definitely sounds like you have a defective system. If you are driving, and you are trying to access all the options while your car is moving,it won't work because of safety measures the manufacturer had to put in.Every time you stop your car(even in drive, with your foot on the brake),you will see the options reappear, with you able to access them.Once you start moving again, the options are grayed out again. In this case, everything is working correctly. You may know this already, but just trying to help.Good luck.

Thanks TCV, I thought my radio was broken. Sure enuff, it works just like you say, as soon as the car starts moving the options are greyed out.

Thanks for the information!

I understand that this is a safety "feature" but it is very frustrating considering not even a front seat passenger can fully operate the music box (or navigation for that matter!) when the armada is being driven.

Since there is already a sensor that detects when the front passenger seat is occupied, seems that could be used as a trigger to enable all the music box and navigation menu items.

Appreciate the help.

It is a real pain - what if you were sailing down the Interstate a few hundred miles or whatever - and you wanted to change to a different album? You have to pull over and stop the car??

There is a way to scroll through the artists when your driving at least. You have to turn the tune dial.If you have a lot of artists, like i do,it could really be a pain, but it's something.Other than doing a full hardware mod to the Music Box and Nav system as i have read(which means cutting wires and adding switches),this is all you can do with the music while driving.Even though i am an electrician, and love modding things,i would hate to void my warranty for something like that.I have been searching for a software mod, with no luck.I'm sure something is bound to come up,sooner or later. As for now, chow.

Welcome to NICOclub armadagirl! Glad to have you here. I have not seen you post in the Armada/QX56 Forum at all, but I am the mod there, and please don't hesitate to post any questions there as well. I have the music box in my Armada and '09 Murano so I am quite familiar with it.
