Are you sure it is getting power? Does the light or gauge face light up upon startup? Also, have you adjusted the tach to read a 6-cyl signal?

check your signal wire connections and make sure its wired up to the proper tach signal. if it seems to be all correct you probably have a defective tach.

HAHA Welcome fellas!! LOL, I tried an Autometer tach myself,, From what I was told it will Not work Without the converter Box.

I bought the Box but never had a chance to hook it up and see if it worked.

This is what I Bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Mine is still brand new i the box.

I ended up using my SAFC II as a tach.

I'm using a Defi Step Graph Tach.I'm not really sure but I believe that it did work a long time ago. This was when my 1st harness was wired and the car wouldn't start.I would crank it and I could see the tach jumping a little. But now I get absolutely no movement, after the opening demo.

I'm 99% sure you need the convertor box to hook up an autometer tach to a nissan. The signal the ecu sends out is different than the signal the autometer tach needs

Anyone ever get anywhere with this???Because I still don't have any signal to my Pin # 7 on the ECU.

NOTHING is coming out of the ECU.

So I went ahead and bought one of those Dakota Digital SGI-8 Boxes to hook directly to the Coil packs.

I have the same prob on s2 rb25 and Stewart Warner tach. I get if I remember right 200-400ths of a volt fluctuation on tach output of ecu. I have seen an inductive pickup box for tach on internet somewhere. Also some solder together youself fix . I googled prob and found tons of people with same prob so its not the tach,
