I sold off my SUV during the last scare (2005?) for $5,000 under book. The truck market came back the following year. Hold off if you can...

Boy, you aren't kidding... The market for trucks and SUV's is just garbage right now!

Personally.. I like it.

I've been thinking of buying a used truck lately, and they are getting super cheap now. In my area, you can find a mid-90's chev v8 4x4 with say 150k miles on it for like $2500.

A couple years ago, that sort of used truck would have been $6K minimum.

4000 below blue book, that means we'd have to pay people 2 grand to get rid of G50s!!!

(most of the time thats what it should be, with the garbage Q people are selling these days)

Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

I sold off my Suburban, Got 2 more and flipped both of those just in time, back in March, when it was still 3 a gallon. Made a killin on all 3. People need 3/4 ton suburbans to pull their boats in and out of water, so easy sale. Knowing it would soon be 4 and 5 and Maybe near 6 in fall, I knew now was the last time I could sell it.

I look at the car lots around town, a lot of the lil lots that make their money on people buying out of their price range, are stacked with trucks. Usually 3 - 5 cars and over 20 trucks, most of them with larger rims or tires, and so many big SUVs. Sad. Those guys who bought a vehicle looking to make 4 on it, will loose 4-all, just trying to unload it. Here a lot of trucks 98 and newer end up in Mexico, over the last 2 weeks, they are flooded with them. Sux for the family that lives 30 miles from work, and drives a suv, and is broke. Even worse when he gets laid off too. Thousands getting laid off from GM/ Ford/ airlines..... Hard times for our economy. Is this just a US thing, or is it global?

I've never missed a vehicle as much as I miss the Navigator. I want another whale!

They've never turned a wrench in their life, they never drive the cars the way they were designed, and the cars sit in climate-controlled garages the remainder of their lives(when there isn't some big show to trailer them to)

I love driving by car dealerships now and just looking at how many suv's are overstocked in car lots. This is good though for people who need big suv's and trucks for work/towing/hauling purposes since they can get them so cheap.

I just bought a very nice Jeep Grand Cherokee for 1400 with leather, and all the bells and whistles and the v8.

I work a tad over one mile from my home so I'm not all that worried about gas. I put 70 dollars in my tank 2 weeks ago and I'm hitting a half tank now.
