so i drive to work yesterday and it was fine and i parked it all day and after work i go to drive and it feels like it is misfiring while it idles. i drive off and once the car started to boost it started to shake hop and struggle to move. i checked the coil packs everything is fine there....i checked to make sure the fuel injectors where plugged in all the way (thats happend to me b4) it was fine....i checked all the boots and clamps on my piping from turbo to intake...no leaks...checked the vac lines....no links.... im lost now and i have no idea where to go from this. any input is helpful

how are you checking for leaks? are you just doing a visual test?

Several things to check:- Run a pressure test on the hot pipe system. Disconnect the piping at the turbo and at the throttle body. Cap off both ends. One of the caps would have a pressure gauge and an air valve stem to apply air. Pressurize the system and watch the gauge; there should be no leakdown.- Attach a vacuum gauge to the hot pipe. While motor is idling, measure the vacuum. The reading should be around 18-20 InHg. - Make sure blow-off valve and waste gate is working correctly.

i will make sure to try that...also i just noticed 2 mins ago that my BOV (which is an ebay type RS "greddy".... ) only have one nipple but the real greddy has two one on the top and one under thats at about a 45deg angle....i feel air getting sucked through there now which i never noticed or heard before....i put my finger there to block it but i didnt notice a change.....and i dont happen to have another one laying around and i dont wanna buy one just in case its not the problem...how and i check to see if thats the problem or not???

See if your blowoff valve is leaking air out when it should be holding boost

Read my post about using a vacuum gauge. Read the gauge while pushing on the BOV; if the reading changes a lot, the BOV is leaking.

brand spanking new greddy type rs just installed an the car runs well under vacuum but once i hit boost or try to hit boost it started to studder again....any suggestions

Here is a video of whats going on...if you turn it up you can here the misfiring of lack of power boost the whole car sucks....lol

That bov is most def the problem.

If it is sucking in Air through the BOV..Then that is UNMETERED AIR which your Airflow sensor has NOT accounted for, therefore your air/fuel ratio is going to be ****ED because the engine is getting more air than the computer is reading, and its mixing the improper amount of fuel.

i want to agree but the fact is that i just put the bov not but 2 days before the video....brand new....i replaced my old one.....and still i get this problem

ur car is doing same thing as mine is, but i cant tell you what it is because im having problem with mine still and im having people from forced fab and ruckus racing helping me, but if i find out ill let you know

you would be a life saver cuz i had a shop look at it and they couldnt figure it out....i was kinda pissed that they charged me $60 but screw it i wont take my car back to them.let me know plz....thanks

If you have the stock intake still there is an extra little tube that comes out of it if its not plugged or the bov is not recir. then it will run like that and sound like a subie lol GL

my stock waste gate got stuck open once that stoped boost look to see if actuator looks open or if push rod came off

you say you replaced the bov, but you never said if you had it recirc'd or not. i would try to recirc it first, because unless you have a blow-through maf setup, the a/f ratio will be off.

more details on engine too please. psi?, stock piping? we need more info

my car builds boost and its not recurculating. did you check the wastegate i want to know if that helped

well....my CAS was all f-ed up where it wouldnt hold its timing...my tps wasnt grounded correctly...i still have the random "heart beat skip" as in for a split second the car loses its power as if it cut the fuel off for that split second but then hall *** right after...but i am able to boost with no problems....i imagen that i have a bad sensor thats causing this skipping VERY randomly but i havent found it yet.

never get ebay products ..friends gst has the same blow off. its not even blowing off lol i had that problem with my redtop sr20 it didnt wanna boost and just misfired. i dont remember how i fixed it i took all the pipings off for the intercooler and put it back together and car worked fine after that. i dont know DO NOT TAKE MY WORD ON THAT IT MAY NOT WORK FOR YOU thats just from my experience
