Is 6.49% with 740 score a fail deal?

I got 40% finance for my rogue and it is at 6.49% with 740 score. Do you think it is good? first, they said 7.99%, I said I don't want to car then they said i missed a payment and they follow a different credit union(Eqifax), which they said, is listed like around 670(I think they are just a bunch of liars!). When I looked at my credit score, the finance bastard called 3 banks!(all listed in credit score and will be there for 2 years).

Even if you have good credit score, the finance bastards will rip your off! I hate them.

My 5.25% for 5 years with score of 703 and I'm paying $800 to pay off the car in a year. I gave 'em $10k down.

I would say that is not a good rate. What's really bad is their last promotion ended on the 1st with 2.9%

I see you're from Roch. NY too so I would recommend you to go to Vision and ask for Tom. Tell him that you're from Leo and he will drop you the price up to $1000 depends on a package that you're going to buy. Plus he can give you a better rate than any bank. Just tell him different % that bank offers you.

My wife & I applied together..both have stellar credit (780+). Got 4.65% for 60 mos from a local credit union, plus another .25% off for auto withdrawls from a bank account. Since we financed so little, I don't know if that made a difference. Check out local credit unions, in the past they have offered numerous and better rates. Check their websites, we actually did better than their advertised rate which was still the lowest around.

Remember, Nissan's promotional interest rates are regional, there was no incentive interest rate in NY when we bought ours on 4/30/08.

no you got great deal ! most dealers use "fisco" score which means they take 3 different reports from 3 different reporting agencies it works this way if trans union reports 740 Equifax reports 640 and experian reports 700 your average score would be 700 and banks will use 700 as your score but score is not only thing they use in my case when I purchased my house I had average 700 which is low in today’s economy to buy house but I did not had any missed or late payments at all so bank decided I was ok to land money score is just 40 % of your credit maybe even lower than 40 % different lenders look at different conditions when I purchased my car I had average score of 720 but I had too much loans (house, credit cards etc) I was not behind on payments but banks are cautious when you heave too many lines of credit so I got 9 % . its very hard to shop around for credit but don’t be afraid your score will be lowered actually when you shop around for house or car credit reporting agencies do not lower your score within 3 moth after first hit on credit your score is not lowered so as long as you buy car within 3 moth you can shop around as much as you like your score will only be lowered one time when you check it first time for next 3 moth it will not go down different dealers check it ! and one more thing to consider dealers get lots of money from banks as kickback if they take out loan from that bank so I think its better if you go to local credit union or your bank where you heave your checking account loans are always much better there or you should ask for financing from factory bank in this case it would be Nissan motor acceptance they normally heave better loans sometimes with 0% financing ( but look for finance charges they can give you 0% financing but charge you lets say $ 2000 a year as bank fee it happened to my friend ) when I got my car they where preparing car in shop and salesman walked to shop to check on them and we chatted a little and he told me they made more money from my loan than actual profit they made from car sale bank paid them $ 4000 kickback for taking me there ( he told me all this after I give him $ 100 tip for being nice to me during sales process and for $ 1400 discount ) so wolfs are out there do lots of research before you buy something big and always go back to same place even if they lied before because you know their tricks and its easier to separate truth from lie and never go to more than 1 dealer per day our brains cant handle this much pressure and in the end of the day someone will talk you into some bad loan when negotiating if deals sounds too good take a brake walk out relax for 5 minutes think true and take another fresh look at deal !

Sounds high to me. I missed a promo rate, too, but they gave me something like 5%, and I put less down. My credit score was in that ballpark, too.

Try online. Lending tree does car loans now. My boyfriend has terrible credit and had a bankruptcy due to his ex-wife. His credit score was like 660 and he got an interest rate of 8.7% from Capital One. They just send you a "Blank Check" (their program name) in the mail that is good at any dealership. You tell them what you are buying and they qualify you for that amount plus some to cover extras. Then you negotiate with the dealer like you are using their financing they get a cut of (and jack you with) and make the deal. At finance guy time you just pull out the check and ask how to make it out, a thing of beauty! With good credit you can get a really good rate. It just sets up like a regular car loan.

Of course, we found this after I got my Rogue. For mine I got the Nissan 5.99 best they had with my 780 score and paid it off immediately with my 2.99% credit card check I got in the mail that is good until paid off and only cost $99 to use. I made my own loan!
