Noticed when going over bumps today I sometimes hear a squeak. I'm aware of leaking struts on the front and rear passenger side. Could this be the cause of the noise or another suspension component showing its age. Speaking of my Q's struts, I must vent that I'm dissapointed in the life of them. For the cost of them it's unacceptable. My struts on my 2000 Lincoln Ls with 124,000 miles are still flawless and leak free. Although it has had a host of other repairs .

Most shocks are done by 60k whether the owner is cognizant enough to feel the slow progressive decline is another matter! Waiting for a leak is waiting way too long. 95% of drivers cannot feel the decline because they have nothing to compare against.

We've never had an owner not be able to tell the difference just after replacement.

Why vent about something you have no control over?

Couldn't speak to what your actual problem is, as you'll have to isolate it, but I got a creaking sound when by subframe bushings went bad. Hope that it's not them, since they do not come separate from the subframe.

could be a host of things... Over small bumps, i might suspect something in the sway bar or a tension rod bushing.. Is it more like a chirping/clicking more than like a squeak?

If so, id check the sway bar end links.

Yeah, chirping is exactly what it is. It's also losing contact with road and affecting straight path ability when encountering significant bumps, giving a unsafe feel. Its as if the tire bounces repeatedly instead of once. On the highway it has a wandering light feel.

So are these orignal? How many miles? Is the shock switch set to auto?

after hearing this i would definitely check the sway bar bushings and end links, as well as the tension rods.

Report back with your findings!

Asked my mechanic to check my suspesnsion for other wear since he's gonna be doing the front struts job. He suggested ball joint replacement, so let me ask everyone this. Is there some humanly possible way to replace ball joints without buying the entire control arm. Ball joint searches for my Q keeps bringing me results of control arm.
