Thats next on my to do list.... It needs to be moveable first tho.... I plan on saving my next 4 or 5 checks and buying all the supplies and finishing up the body work... I might even primer it before then but I'm not sure yet. My dad Paints cars for a body shop and his work is excellent only thing is he doesn't have a place to do it right now... So I'm SOL until he gets a place to do it or if i decide to take it to a shop and have them paint it... The only bad thing is I'm very anal about the way I want it all painted and I'd be there everyday just making sure they do it just right.....

Trust me.... To each his own tho. I'll have the parts I want eventually its just taking forever and a day.......

I will knock on it, its not the fact buying stuff on ebay is bad, its you buying the horrible junk sellers put on it. I wouldn't have said anything if you bought things that were safe and fit correctly, but you didn't. That steering wheel is junk, and if you ever get in a crash, its going to fold in half. I'm not trying to be an ***, somethings like that steering wheel just aren't safe, and i feel like you need to understand that. You have ebay coilovers that cost 20 bucks, and those aren't teins no matter how hard you shut your eyes and imagine, unless thats not the picture of them. Seems like you've got you funds in the wrong places at the wrong times. Just like it doesn't seem you have done proper maintenance first, like your radiator should have been replaced obviously, if you checked over the whole car and had it for 3 years. This is why im being alittle hard on you... do things properly and i'm all for it. I know people have their own style of what they want their car to look at, so cool if you like the looks, i won't say anything about that, just don't cheap out on parts that can cause a crash. Good luck with everything, take my opinion for what its worth, if not, fine.

Behind every car there is a story.... I was young and dumb when I started building my car yes I will admit it... I'm not saying my parts are the greatest right now. I know that and FYI the car if you haven't noticed has been in a car accident thats why its getting swapped to 5 lug. And the steering wheel is fine. I trust it with my life or I wouldn't have it on my car duh. I could sit back and look at your car and point out all of the things I don't like about it, but its your car your the one that drives it and I like my car for what it is. I know the plans I have for my car and yes it will def look better once it is all one color. It takes time like anything nice and you have to stick with it. Don't ask me what I was thinkin when I was 16 and wanted all kinds of stupid stuff. Trust me i'm starting over and doing things right this time and thats why I made this thread... No one's perfect and I don't need to hear how bad you don't like my car. I love it to death and I haven't posted some of the interesting things about it that I don't have pictures of yet since my camera broke. I also made this thread to get advice on what others think I should do next. Plus If you haven't noticed I didn't post any pictures of under the hood.... The neon's came on the car and they are long gone now.... The wing... I don't know what I was thinking about that but its long gone 2.... and the tails are already in the trash where they belong. I'm going to buy the kouki tail's in a couple months before it goes into paint. I also don't want the 240sx rear quarter window's and I'm searching for 180sx one's. So if anyone know's where I can get those let me know. It will only get better with time.... Its not as bad as some of the other 240's out there... At least I still don't have any rust on my ride....

Oh and as for the radiator.... The only reason I used silicone on it was b/c i blew when I was in indy and I live about an hour from there... I had to get home somehow. I've got a newer radiator out of a 91 in it now. So don't say I don't know proper my proper maintenance... That was a last effort move to get the car home without blowing it up.

You had a parts car, youve had the car 3 years........... and yet this is the best you can come up with "it isnt done"......... no it is been done. someone needs to put it out of its misery.part it out and stop thinking ebay is one stop shop for performance. Ive had my car going on 2 years in june and well it is def a work in progress, I would be imbarrassed to drive that thing down the block. even a 4 dollar can of spray paint for the white body kit would have helped it 1000%..... ebay ISNT a great place to find stuff. less you are looking for cheap **** and making you car look like cheap ****. if this was your plan...... I wouldnt say "it isnt finished", I woud call it "mission accomplished!"

Listen, I didn't say anything about the look of your car, so there would be no reason to point out anything on my car, because you have no idea whats been done, nor the quality of parts. I'm not calling you out on anything, just warning you for the future. Yea sure, you were young... thats fine. I'm not saying your an idiot, just be aware and start fixing the things you need to the right way. I never said i was perfect, nor anyone else, because no one is. Thats how you learn. Just relax, i'm trying to help you out so you don't make the same mistakes, exactly like when you said, "i don't know what i was thinking when i was 16." And that steering wheel is not safe, its been discussed. Even a buddy of mine bought one, put it on, and immediately took it off because how horribly flimsy it was. I'm sure you have your own opinion, but one crash will tell the tale. Good luck with your build.

Well the kit is getting painted as soon as my z is sold and I'm going to put my 17" konig's on it this monday when my 5 lug parts come in. I had a guy send me an e-mail today that wants to trade me a black top sr for my z. But I don't know if thats going to pan out or fall through... He said he can get a red top but right now he has the black top. So like I said its getting a makeover... And no the car has never been "Done" Its a work in progress. I would have the car finished if I wasn't in school all the time and didn't work. It could be worse I could own a honda...... Speaking of honda's Check out my friend's integra we just got finished last week

Sneak peak... phone camera pic since my sister has my camera for the week.
I'll have more pictures of everything that I've done so far later on... I've got tomorrow off so I'll be at it all day. I have decided to ditch the bodykit idea... Instead I have decided I want to get a 91-94 chuki front bumper fenders and bumper extention fender pieces. I don't know if it all bolts up or not but I think it should with little to no modifications. I found a chuki front bumper on e-bay but they want an arm and a leg for it... So. For those who read this.... I'm looking for a 91-94 chuki front end I don't care what color it is b/c I am having the whole car re-painted in as soon as I get the parts in. I've got quite an issue with my front wheels rubbing my shocks right now. Thats what I'm going to try to fix tomorrow. I'm ordering extended studs and a wheel spacers and hopefully that will work... Lets see if anyone can guess what wheels those are.... I'll also be re-wiring some things and finishing up the other mods I haven't show you guy's yet.... But for now I'm going to bed l8ter

This may have been answered, but those look like a 5 lug version of the American Racing wheels I had on my first Volvo. Except they weren't painted. This was while I was fixing the car after I wrecked it. It was all red, then red white and blue for a while, then primer black. It's now probably a little cube.
Thank god you are keeping it looking stock on the outside. I wouldn't put the black top in until last if you get it. Work out all the cheap things done to the outside, that will show their ugly faces sooner or later.

I'll have to finish reading through before I make a contributing response. |
Wow.... Your good I got them for dirt at my local junkyard as some temp wheels till I figure out what I'm doing with my 300zx... Whether is be part it out or sell it.... Here's what they looked like when I first got them.
This is what the rims look like now....
I taped them off and sprayed them when I was painting my calipers. Here's How the calipers turned out...
I got my turbo in a couple days ago and set it in the engine bay to see how it would look....
I don't know if I'm going to boost this motor or wait till I save up some money and pull a swap in it... But like I said its a work in progress... I also replaced my fuel pump with a walbro 255 Pump.

Here's my hatch floorboard without the carpet in yet. I just finished putting the carpet in it like an hour ago... Don't have any pictures of how it turned out... But That will be later once I bolt down my system and battery again.
I've been tinkering with this as well.... Its my friend's suzuki 600 we had to put new brake pads on it and clean it up... It looks amazing and It is so much fun to ride! I've been thinking about buying one but I'm going to wait till I get my car all finished up first.

I sold the wing months ago to my friend who eventually bought a 240 and stuck it on there... I was pissed when I saw it... He ruined a none holy hatch and wiperless at that....As for the kit it will prob end up in my "Parts room" its basically just my junk storage space with all kinds of tires and random car parts in it... I still have the stock rear bumper and its going back on the next day I have off... I just started my new job so I'll be working more trying to save up some money for more parts... I've got everything wrote down that I want and I'm trying to buy a chuki front bumper off a guy thats parting one out but he doesn't want to deal with shipping it.... So... I think I'm up the creek on that one... The 240's around here are all pignose and I hate them.... There was one up at happy's import junkyard in indianapolis but I'll bet its long gone by now. I'm going up there not this weekend but next to check it out and see if they have gotten any z32's in or if that chuki is still up there. I really didn't care what everyone was saying before about my car since I already had most of the work done. I knew it would turn out good but my front tires are rubbing my shocks right now... I still have yet to fix that issue. I'm prolly going to have to run extended stud's and some pretty hefty wheel spacers to fix that issue. I'm looking around for some good extended studs and spacers right now actually... I've been talking to the guy that I bought my 5 lug swap off of and he has the dohc Ka motor from the car he parted out still and he only wants like 300 bucks if I make a road trip down to pick it up. I also talked to OriginalWheelman from here and he wants my 300zx. He said he's got a blown dohc ka but the head and all the conversion parts for the sohc to dohc swap are all good... I don't know which route I want to go just yet tho.

well i gotta say i like the way your going now, with ditching the kit and stuff. man, some people are really giving you **** in here, its all good though. I wouldnt knock ebay, i bought my avcr there for instance, from a reputable ebay store brand new and its just the same as buying it anywhere else

Man I hate that junkyard with a passion...it's one of the only junkyards with any s14's around me but the guy working in the office/register is a f*cking a*shole/idiot.
