The ‘uncrackable’ GT-R (R35) ECU has been cracked and without the speed limit, the GT-R can hit a claimed 193mph. Nissan engineers have used heavy levels of encryption on the ECU and it is said that only a small number of people in the world can hack the system.

Just goes to show that there is always a way.

I wonder how long before this info falls into the hands of notable high HP tuners...

I thought top speed was unlimited stock.

Don't know what application that will have without the hardware.

The new Nissan GT-R will be limited to 180km/h in Japan and it is expected that in North-America and Europe the limit will be set at 250km/h.

Did someone say my name?

I'm glad to hear this -- it just means that this is all just a beginning and my dreams of one day driving a GT-R at maximum potential with a swapped-in 6MT are not dashed to oblivion.

Oh yeah, Amuse in Japan has tuned a GTR to bah-dah-dah-dum

610HP

With just a new exhaust and ECU program.

I was wondering that too, you got a guy with an X-Terra piling on at that (I shouldn't talk I have an 05' X-Terra in addition to my Q45) but pretty off topic.
