on stock KA intake piping, there are three hoses. one for the IACV, one for the valve cover, and one for something else.

on my AEM intake, ive only got the valve cover and iacv hoses connected, i dont even know what the other hose is, i dont think ive even got it.

whats the third hose, and whats it for? im looking for some vaccuum leak since ive got idle at 2500 rpms, but im not sure what that hose is supposed to be.

I lmfao'd.

On my car, I shoehorned an OEM mustang intake to point to the passenger side of the engine compartment. There was only one place to hook up a hose so what I did was I attached the IACV hose to the intake and put a breather filter on the valve cover hose. The other vacuum line I just left to sit. Letting that hose sit like that didn't do anything. With that setup (plus exhaust, reflash, and minor weight savings), I ran a 15.0 down the 1/4 with a slipping clutch.

Here's a pic of my setup. K&N filter FTW.

Intake setup on my old KA24DE

There is also a small vacuum hose on the bottom side of the intake where it hooks up to the throttle body.

That one plugs into a vacuum port on the throttle body, at least on my engine.

The third hose runs to a -T- line which connects to some hard lines (3) that run between the intake manifold and fuel rail (on the KAE at least), and the AIV or charcoal canister.

Just follow the vac lines for the charcoal canister or AIV back to the source (hardlines) and in turn that will lead you to the 3 vac line that goes on the intake. Just plugged it.

well. i dont have whatever hose is suppsoed to attach to the intake.

and i dont have the charcoal canister, and i currently have nothing connected to the group of hardlines bolted to the intake manifold.

shrug, im really hoping i can at least figure out why my idles so ricockulously high.

w/e vacuum hose you have just block it off with a screw of something, that what I did and my car works fine.

LOL, nice drawing. haha

i dont even have a hose. im pretty sure whatever used to go into the stock intake piping ran and connected to one of the larger metal pipes under the throttle body, all of which i have disabled anyway. so i guess nevermind.

i just took off and cleaned my IACV unit, so maybe thatll solve my problem.
