Best (and easiest!) $231.19 I've spent on a mod in a long time!

The SL arm rest/storage box fits like a champ in the S model. Install takes less than 30 minutes and went flawlessly. Start at the back end (the rear seat cup holders) and work forward - the rear cup holders are held in with clips - pull up firmly on either side and they will release. The way the rest of the assembly comes apart and how the arm rest goes in is self explanatory.

The following 3 parts are required. No more, no less:

96960 Finisher - Console - Versa Hatch (C11X) 2007+ HB.SL (color) $30.8296912Q Mask - Console - Versa Hatch (C11X) 2007+ HB.SL (color) $16.6396911 Body - Console - Versa Hatch (C11X) 2007+ HB.SL (color) $112.22

Unrelated, but I'll suggest it just the same (5 min. install), Keyless Entry Pad $53.20

Shipping to my location was $18.32 for the total of $231.19.

All parts were purchased from Courtesy Nissan whom I called beforehand and they were EXTREMELY helpful in verifying the parts "looked" like it was all I needed. I don't think anyone actually knew if this would work until I did it. I am happy to confirm it does. A great mod!

Great info and I am glad to hear that someone has been able to make this happen. The eBay armrest was my first and most needed item addition to our Versa, however....

As much as I hate to disagree, I disagree. There are many, many photos available of the installed armrest "out there" already. As for installation, no photos are necessary as I just proved by the "easiest" mod I've done w/o them.

the fact that I took the time to do the post w/part numbers, prices, etc certainly makes the post non-worthless, doesn't it?

No, the post certainly is NOT worthless without the pics. I was just hoping for some.

I do have a question regarding the ordering of 96911 body-console. I noticed that both the S & SL use the same order number however a S uses the 96911-C11X001 and a SL uses 96911-C11X003. Both are priced the same, but it appears that the Armrest is added to the Body-console for the SL for the same price of $112.22??? Am I missing something??

Thanks again for the information and being a pioneer on this venture!!

Saw a junk yard on the net that had one w/12k miles for like$75 + shipping. Why buy new?

Is there a difference between a CVT transmission console and a 4-speed? and a manual?

From what I can tell, the delta between the 2 is the rear cup holder (S) and arm rest (SL) for the same $$. Both are 96911. Seems like a hell of a deal (or shi*** one if you bought an S)

I found it odd that the rear cupholders for the S has a separate order number (68430M) while there is no item number for the arm rest itself. I have seen other Nissan parts sites list the SL console for something like $700 , but if $112.22 got you the unit with arm rest then perhaps I should order one before they "fix" their listing.

Thanks again for your help.

Does anyone know if this mod was done on a 2007 or 2008 model versa?

It should not matter. I believe that there are no changes to the interior between the 07 & 08 model years.

Reason I ask is that I called courtesy nissan and talked to a gentleman that said there was a huge price jump for the 2008 parts compared to the 2007 parts. We are talking$752 dollars instead of $112.22. He was inclined to believe there was some difference between the two parts. Not enough to justify the huge price leap however. He did say that they may look into making the armrest installation a package that they would sell since they have had a few requests. That would make it much easier for the consumer as well as them. If we could figure this one out I do believe the people at Courtesy Nissan would make it happen, they are much more willing to help than the local dealers I have.

I still contend that there is a pricing error on that $112.22 that they have not caught up with yet. All other sites that I have priced the factory armrest parts on are in that $700 range. You should probably order it before they get it "right".

I got the answer from the guys at Courtesy Nissan yesterday. The difference between the 2007 and 2008 console part# 96911 is for 2008 they have integrated some of the hardware for the smart keyless entry system into this part on the 2008 SL models. There is no problem with the 2007 parts fitting just fine in the 2008. So if you don't have the smart keyless entry system it doesn't matter. I went ahead and ordered the parts and should have them in about a week. Cost was about the same as NHVERSA originaly posted. The guys at Courtesy Nissan said, "We are going to make it a featured product on our website." This will make it much easier for people wanting to add the armrest. Hope this helps.

I got the parts last night and had the armrest installed in about 45 minutes. The only hang up was that the new consold body has a 3rd mounting point in the middle and it did not come with the nut to attach it to the existing mounting point. I did find a nut and washer that did the trick though, and it did make the whole setup a bit stronger.

I'm interested in buying the armrest, just have one question: in the courtesy parts catalog says Trim G and Trim C which one is which, I mean which color is which?

I don't see what you are refering to in the catalog. My suggestion would be to call courtesy parts and ask for Steve. He is the only Steve there. He is who I was dealing with and got everything squared away for me. Just tell him what you aim to do and he will figure out the rest. Good Luck
