I dont know if this has been covered or not, i tried searching but right now the search is unavailable.

Could i use a turbo of a RB20DET cuz my friend has one and he is putting a bigger turbo on there so hes going to have one left over. If i can what exhaust manifold would i need?

i plan on build up and going turbo just a mild setup

For a no lag setup the T3 from the RB20 will work just fine for about 8psi. Plus you get a BB center section that can be made into a T3/TO4 later on down the road.

Make sure you do use the water ports that come on that turbo. Cause like WD said, it has a Ceramic BB section. If you don't cool it down properly you can say bye bye turbo.

Water lines are easy to run to the turbo, since the ports are bi directional.
