Well this was my original headlight rewired. Most of you probably already seen it and done it yourself. I like to be different so that is why I did it. Now a few people have it so I figured I would be the first to do a mod on $1200 headlights. It took 2 redbulls and several hours but I like how it turned out. Enjoy the pics. I will be glad to help with any questions. Sorry the car was dirty during the photos shoot. lol. to dark to wash before the project started.

5My original headlight rewiring, nothing to difficult. Old signals are now running lights and old running lights are now turn signals.

Now for the new stuff. First I had to tear the front end apart

After that I had to separate the lens and housing

This is the parts painted

Now some photos for comparison

Here are some from various angles

This is with the headlight mod and rewire (per someones request )

The whole package without a car wash. lol. still a little too cold for me.

Ok i finally cleaned up the headlights. it now has black silicon and it also has the 2 lower reflectors painted a little more. you can see compared to the previous pics where the lower 2 haven't been painted yet

Well thanks for looking at my thread and I hope you like the headlight mod. I tried to get good angles and detailed shots so you can see exactly what they look like

i am a teppanyaki chef and bartender at a Japanese restaurant, not much of a baker. lol. j/k. the ballast for my hid lights wouldn't come out so i just used a heat gun a screwdriver and pried it little by little. latex gloves and redbull helped out alot though. time consuming. alot of people want to do this mod but the biggest thing is by far "baking" a $1200 set of headlights. i need to re silicone with black. i used clear cause they didn't have black so that is noticeable in one of the pics. not that big of a deal though. I should do a core charge and sell these lights. trade in stock lights for JDM style lights, plus some cash of course, and i do all the hard work and overnight the part back. 2 day turn around , maybe not. i'm not looking to make any money. maybe a small fee for my time

thanx a lot man for this...i am going to a similar thing but i am doing a projector retrofit once i buy another set of headlights from ebay, i already have 2 projectors i'm gonna buy two more because i'm gonna do a dual projector retrofit, it doesn't seem like a big challenge at all, i'm gonna paint the parking light like you did and use angels eyes instead, i already have everything planed...i'm just waiting to get headlights and another set of projectors. i will be doing a full write up including a step by step instructions with pictures. one of my friends did this with his GTI and he's gonna help me with it

sorry i didn't do a step by step write up. figured not to many people will do this mod. more of a show and tell and not a show and follow. just like most i wanted to do this mod for a while but figured i might as well try. i try to do what i want and not say what i want to do and never do it. projectors are nice but pain to adjust and make fit properly. good luck. expensive headlight for a hefty mod. i don't see that mod quite often. maybe to much hassle. i guess you will find out in do time. i thought this mod might be difficult but it was actually easy.

um. pretty much heated a small section then pried the plastic away from the lens continue until all the plastic is peeled away from the lens. once that is done then heat the whole thing up and pry away the two peaces. takes for ever. google is your best friend. in the 4th pic shows what i am talking about. that is what it should look like while you are prying the plastic from the lens. heat gun and flat screwdriver is all i used

KP, how much would you be willing to sell these for? Or should I say, for how much would you be willing to do these for someone else?

i would say $250 total. you would probably spend $25 to overnight ship it to me and then for me to get the materials and overnight the light back the next day complete. out of the 250 i would probably only get 200. most of that is labor but it takes about 4-5 hours to do, and the materials aren't free. not trying to make a killing. just money for effort.

$250 for me($25 for shipping back-$25 for materials-$200 for labor)$25 for you to ship$275 total - your cost

which color...white...red...blue....i lkke the white so it can be day running lights but red is pure novelty and blue is well...illegal...lol....plus i have HID lights and don't think blue would be noticeable with my lights on anyway. plus would you like the bottom 2 only or all 3. maybe up and down only.. my park and headlights...not sure.. how about a photoshop of all possible combinations...then i can make a decision..i could do the headlight with angel eyes for a little more then the original $250...let me know

blue is illegal?! Here (Quebec) you can have whatever color for the angel eyes as long as it doesn't disturb or diminish the main beams

Blue is cool during the night, white is nice too but that's a bit like BMWs, but it's still nice. whatever you want, but personally i'd go with blue

don't do angel eyes unless you could find a circular reflector that would fit, putting angel eyes on the stock reflector would look fugly

one step ahead of you.....take shape of angel eye then lay over refloector...mark off the excess lens then paint it....the reflector will now appear to be circle...i painted my top lens and it isnt noticebale that it changed shape...stock appearing.....painted top and bottom which left the center reflector on the top park light...you have to ompare it with stock lens to see what i am talking about....trust me i am not an idiot....

just added a few more pics....i think the headlight looks better with the lower reflectors painted a little just like how i did the top....pics dont do this mod justice...have to see to understand how much of a difference it makes....i am still debating angel eyes....need opinions....i also have another "custom mod" coming that i think several people on here would like and it is relatively cheap but well worth the money...it will be ready by friday jan. 18....it will be a "G35" mod...dont worry it will be good....not some tasteless copycat stuff..i say g35 loosely...it is really going to be custom...watch for my next thread...."g35 taillight mod for altima"

are you talking about what i think you're talking about? LED tail lights? lol i think that's like every coupe drivers dream lol i'm really liking the mod you did to the lights. i definitely need to make mine look like that since my car is dark slate and it would make it look so much nicer. i always did like angel eyes but i never looked into it. i mean it was one of those things that you take a quick glance at and "wow it looks nice" and just move on. so the circle part, is that the actual light bulb itself or how do you get it to light in a circle? i saw a photoshoped angel eyes pic here and it looked nice. i think it would be amazing with those angel eyes and a black painted housing like you did. good job man, keep up the good work, i look forward to your G35 mod
