If the doors are locked and I unlock the passenger side, it unlocks both.

Doing anything on the driver's side replicates it on the other side.

I'm in the market for an alarm now, and I have the exact same problem as Clawhammer. Will installing this alarm system solve that problem, or should I get that fixed first?

Thanks Toby

There's nothing to get fixed. I called Toby up and he walked me through which wires to tap into and it works like a charm. No extra parts needed. Circuit City is just dumb and Toby rules. Get the alarm.

The 5900 has the standard + or - selection for door locks. So technically it does have built in relays. However, they are not programmable for different wiring configurations. So if you were adding actuators or if it is a 240 with the "one wire" door locks, then you would need additional relays. I include all of those little extra parts at no cost though. If you have the locks like Clawhammer described above then you need nothing extra.

Toby

Hey Broadfield,

I have a base model 1993 with 0 power options, my door locks on either side only work when they are manually actuated. And I'm looking into a basic alarm system that if possible has key-less entry.. and what parts (relays, actuators, etc) I would need?

What kind of system would work for me?

The 791XV is a discontinued model. It was replaced with the 5900, which has better range. The 5900 would run you $279 shipped. I can throw in 2 DEI door actuators and the relay pack for $20 extra. So $299 shipped for everything

Ok, so having my neighboor's car stolen is telling me it's time for an alarm. But I have some questions, what are the big differences between the 350HV and the 1002(if you have it in stock). I was looking at the website and it said the 1002 has comfort closure, what's that?
Also I'm looking to put a sub box in my accord, nothing too much, 300 watts or so, what do you have along those lines?

Thanks Toby.

The 1002 and the 350HV are exact as far as the alarm features go. The main differences are: the 1002 remotes have better range and it has built in relays for door locks. I include the relay pack with the 350HV if you need relays. Comfort closure is standard on both systems. However, it requires a window roll-up module to function. It would simply roll your windows up automatically when you arm the system.

Are you just looking to purchase the subs? I would probably recommend building your own box or buying one locally, because shipping would be fairly expensive. Do you also need an amplifier to push the subs? How much bass are you hoping to get and what type of budget are you looking at? Just let me know and I will come up with a nice little quote!

Thanks,

Toby

How much is the 1002?

Yea I'm looking to get subs and an amp to push them, I was thinking two 10" subs and like 200 - 300 watt amp. I'm trying not to spend more than $350.

Thanks again Toby.

The 1002 would run you $159 shipped.

A nice little sub woofer package would include a Alpine MRP-M500 mono-block 500 watt RMS amplifier. Then 2 10" JL Audio 10w1v2 sub woofers. I can do all of this for $360 shipped. Pretty good price for some nice equipment and a good amount of power. If you buy an alarm system and the audio stuff I'll throw in the amplifier wiring kit for free!

Thanks,

Toby

Yes it will work with any alarm, even other brands. The package would run you $175 shipped. I do not stock the digital tilt sensor though, so it would take me a week to get it in.

Nah they are manual, and I'm talking the only unlock via key from the outside or by hand from the inside.

Quick question about the wiring, I'm pretty sure I should wire up the subs in series, but I figured I'd ask you to make sure, seeing as you know a lot more than I do.

edit - PayPal hates me , and won't let me send more than $500, so I can either send the $519 when I get all the info I need to lift the limits, or I can send you the money in two chunks, which ever you prefer.

I got ya. You can either just not worry about power locks, or I can sell you the actuators and relay pack for $20 extra.

You will wire the subs in parallel to achieve a 2-ohm load. You can send two separate payments..... it's fine.
