Don't waste your money there.

I bought a kit from XS-Power (aka SS Autochrome) for $260 delivered. It is specifically for the ca18det, and is covered by a one year warranty.

I have used it all summer and have had no problems. The only mod I had to do was cut the hot pipe to accommodate a blow off valve.

Nothing wrong with a custom core off ebay. Ive been running one for 3 years now and its been nothing but great. I think it cost me $150 and my home made piping cost me $40 or so.

I knew they had an ebay store awhile back, but didn't they shy away from that?

I believe they are providing a genuine one year warranty on all their items that previously wasn't offered.

Question: Does the piping line up properly with the throttle body or does it require you to chop up the stock rubber pipe thingy like in the pic?

It doesnt require very much, if any, modification if you get a kit for the s14 sr.

precision cores all the way. best bang for buck. even their little core hold upwards of 450hp. numbers done drop off on the dyno like the ebay ones do. trust me, ive seen it.

I only had to mod the hot pipe for the bov, everything else fit perfect. I have an s13, and the s13 kit was flawless.

Has anyone used a GodSpeed FMIC kit? I have heard of people having good luck with them on SR's but my CA kits just dosnt fit right. the Intake manifold is all out of alignment.

Any one installed one and have a pic?

I do believe it works when you utilize the stock coupler off the manifold.

a dude near me sold me a GReddy kit for S14 SR...same thing the end of the cold pipe shoots down stead of straight to TB...cut the pipe and join it with a coupler or stock rubber intake piece like i did...

Or you could take the time and piece together a kit like I did if you don't want to spend $500 right off the bat. Though I think the ebay kits are more then adequate, it's always nice to know you actually went the extra mile for something a little more quality then ssac lol. I bought a used ARC intercooler for the core, and then modified Greddy hot/cold pipes to work with it. And all said and done $300 not too bad for that set-up(even in the first setup i had an evo 9 ic which worked fine). A friend of mine did an air to water ic and it's bad @$$!!! He hardly had to use any piping either as it sits right where his air intake for the turbo is close to the fender under the hood, totally stealth and works just as well if not better then a fmic. He did it for only $200. Though a friend of mine in thermodynamics says water has little effect for cooling for some reason. Ebay's the way to go evidently

Nice thing about the air/water intercooler setup is you can get over 100% intercooler efficiency. Can't do that with a front mount.
