I have been checking with Tomei for months regarding cams. They don't have any in stock and the cannot tell me when they will have any. I had a retailer I have dealt with call on my behalf, same song and dance but they did mention they had 20 to 30 parties waiting. I'm kind of tired of this bull****. I expect this kind of **** from some fly by night front company who is basically repackaging chinese stuff and selling it on E-bay out of their living room but not a company the size of Tomei.Anyway my guy called Jun and asked them if they were game. Well guess what, Jun said "hell yes roundeye, how many you need"? Their stuff ain't cheap though, convert the yen cost but at least they can deliver. I was told about two months from order to my door Here is what they have;http://www.junauto.co.jp/produ....html?I have no idea if they would offer tiered pricing but I could ask but it would be easier to ask if I knew if anybody was down. I can buy them, I can plug them into the U.S postal system to get them shipped. I don't need these, I have a wicked set of Trust cams. Would I like some 272s to compliment my twin turbo project sure, but I ain't hurtin. I am gaging interest. I'm not going to waste my time and their time for maybes and "if I had some money" stuff. I am telling you I can get these from Jun if you can put the money on the wood. I am willing to do the legwork but if I can't get at least a couple of people on board it seems like a waste of time. This is one of those times where you need to step up or kick yourself later, talk to me people.

Man, good luck trying to get these guys to spend money on performance stuff. I'm not going to slam down on the whole gang, but most here are very cheap which is one reason they own CAs. But yet at still, people want better performance from their motors and fail to realize that more power costs more dollars "Point Blank". I twice offered a group buy on cams I know work and will stand behind, prices were in the 300s for the 264 equivalent grind and just over $400 for a 270 grind with an 8.8mm lift, some were game and most were flakers and that's all good, too.

My $hit runs hard, my customers' $hit run hard, while most are stuck with dreams and end up with mediocre performance at best or jump into the "I'm selling my CA/project" category. I know those JUN piece aren't cheap because most know, I have a fully built engine with all JUN components in which the head cost more than most of these guys' cars with a CA swap in it.

I'm not trying to discourage you mad, just take care of yourself and handle your business first. We've been at this game too long and have watched too many newbs try to skate uphill only too fail. You have to pay to play, folks and upgrades aren't cheap for this motor. May I suggest an SR20DET for those that need to cheap and available upgrades. Not dogging anyone, but if the shoe fits, wear it and wear it proudly !

Thanks for checking into this......$356 per cam is too much for me though, I'd go for some used ebay cams first if i were in the market.

Yeah, I know. Most people don't understand this game costs and those that do don't have the scratch. I am scraping just to get an engine back in the car, my monster is sitting in the corner waiting for funding I haven't given up on my project, this car and the CA have been with me for a decade, I'm addicted. It will get done and it will be worth all the time work and money. I don't expect anybody will go for this but I had to offer anyway just in case. Nice to know when and if I need it I can still get a couple of really bumpy sticks.

I'd be down, but your turbo kit is my main financial priority right now. I just emailed you BTW.

Jun? thats awesome. im not saying id be down for them but depending on how a trip to the machinist later this week goes i will be. im looking into regrinds myself but it falls through i will definately be saving. 356/cam is a little over 7 for the pair? i will pay that for qualitly parts, believe me. so if these are made to order that works for me, i have time to save.

haha...roundeye..

I am very interested in either new Cams or a Regrind. Have Cash or CC in hand.

I would like to ask for some guidance from the pro's here on the best int/ex #'s for my use.

good to see the effort made for the cams. Sensible approach too.

3 or 4 recent instances of people claiming/providing sources of Tomei cams still being available - one recently in "CAMS" thread. Wassup with that ? Are these old stock scattered about suppliers, or 'illusions' ?

I wouldn't call CA peeps cheap. Its more a matter of what a part is worth to the individual vs the gains. There are loads of CA18 testimonials & dynos of say HKS & Tomei. I'd think thats the reason for their high demand. Confidence in quality.

Off-brands performance just always seem a bit sketchy to me, not to mention too many before/after dismal results.

In my case, I'd spring for the Tomei $460/pair posted in the other link, IF it were a reality. I can afford $400 per cam, but quite franlky there's nothing it can do for this little 1.8L to justify that amount imo, not even Tomei or HKS. Forget solid lifter/springs/head mod$$$$, strictly reserved for the hardcore "CA nut". As mentioned, more attractive options tugging at your wallet - used cams, ka24, rb25, etc...

CA18 still run hard with stock cams and are not limited to 'mediocre' performance. ~400hp in some cases. Smarter use of the ca18, in a lighter hull (like mine), makes cams even less of an 'item'. Remember, the quickest car posted on this forum runs 11.1sec ET from a bone stock virgin 18 year old ca18, inhaling 16-17psi from a t3/t4. Spending "alot" is optional.... ways around it as you can see. Pick the 'right tool for the job' from the getgo.
