I got a call from Deatchwerks this morning about the injectors I sent in. 6 of them are "good" and the other 2 are dead. Now I'm faced with the dilemma of replacing 2 of them and having a known faulty set of injectors or to go with all new phase 2 injectors.

If I were go to with the phase 2 injectors from them I will need a $185 adapter kit to make them fit my fuel rail. Can I just aquire a phase 2 fuel rail (95+?) and put it on my 92 engine instead?

Nevermind. Ended up just going with the adapter kit from Deatchwerks.

they make an adapter kit? I thought they were the same except for the plastic bushings that go into the plenum?

I think that is the adapter kit.

The adaptor kit will also have to either include a new subharness to accomodate the different connector styles - or some sort of adaptor.

I talked with Mike over there and asked about the possibility of using the phase 2 fuel rail on my engine. He said that it could be done but he wasn't 100% sure about the work involved. He thought it entailed maching down the bottom of the plenum for clearence, and the I'd still need to buy the pigtails for the different injector connectors.

The adapter kit comes with new "caps" for my existing fuel rail as well as the connectors to adapt my harness (which I still need) to the newer style connector.

No adapter is needed for the '94 - 95 injector subharness since it plugs directly into the 8 pin female connector on the engine wiring harness.
