While I was at the Nissan dealership having the Pathfinder looked at I was killing some time at the parts dept. I asked them to order me a rear window console switch knowing there were none in existance. He looked it up, got the part number and said it should be here next week. I said, "Say What?"

He said a warehouse in Greenville, SC had them. Now if it really shows up I'll be amazed. If it does and they have more is anyone else interested?

$50 seemed kind of high but what the hell...

I'll let my extra go for $25

Wasn't someone trying to fabricate their own? It's a pretty simple switch.

$50 is shipped and with tax and is for both switches and the console peice that houses them not just one of the rockers.

It is a simple design. Each button has two sloped sides that open or close a circuit when pushed.

After being pushed for years the plastic wears out and no longer reaches the contacts thus no workie.

I figured WTF, I'll see if they really exist.

I still thought they always had them. Got mine from a friend in Raleigh who was working at the dealership, last Nov/Dec. Had no problems. Happen to get it for cost though, so it was like $25.

Sorry to say this, but I doubt that. Nissan inventory system is not 100% accurate, so sometime it shows warehouse has it. This is one of those ghost parts.

That's what I figured but while killing time I thought what the heck.

My switch isn't too bad really and I've been "fixing" it every few months. I think all I need to do it use some epoxy resin to raise the area that's supposed to open the circuit. It looks worn and tired and needs some plastic surgery.

Maybe I'll post pics of the repair instead.

For a fix, if they don't have them. I had thought about attaching a small switch to the plastic pieces and then filling in the "hole" with silcone or something. Just might make it look cleaner. Just have to make sure the 'switch' lever isn't too long so its not broken off a lot.

I was amazed when they called me to say my switches were in!!! And they're beautiful. There's a used, broken one for sale on eBay right now at $61 and mine is brand new for $50! I'm stoked.

They have more if anyone is interested. They work so well now.

Nice find Chris!

It pays to "give it a try" sometimes. You should see if this magical Nissan parts counter can get you some weatherstripping, door panels, etc...

Wow, they have an "UP" on them?? Damn, I'm tempted to buy one just cause it's new. Mine acts up a little bit. I can't imagine why they make these still. The 350Z's don't even have rear 1/4 windows, and that's the only vert they make.

See if you can get a discount on buying a lot of them!

They're mounted like that so when you look down at them the writing is correct. It was the same as my Infiniti M30; it had similar rear quarter windows and switches.

I ordered them from Southern States Nissan in Raleigh 2407 Wake Forest Rd., Raleigh, NC 27608. 866-409-9694http://www.ssnissan.net/

I spoke with Charlie, a guy who looks like he's been there since the Datsun 1600 was new. I've ordered a bunch of new stuff like door panels that actually came in from him. Nice guy, very knowledgeable. Several of the parts/service guys have 240s that they drift and race.

You can call him directly and have the parts shipped to you or I don't mind picking stuff up and sending it to you - it's on my way to work.

I think I'll order a boot next - what the hell!

Do you know how expensive they are? You said panels, not panel. Dang... I love to have some new panels...

Sorry, let me clarify, I got new plastic door inserts, you know where the power window buttons go. One was chipped and the other looked old. My door panels are covered in leather and were fine.

Still, I'll see if they have access to the door panel inserts. Who knows. I'm going to see if I can get some new sun visors next.

Your panels don't look too bad. Or am I missing some major cracks?

I don't care for the Frankenstein covered screw look I am doing presently! Or could I just get away with the inserts?
