Skyline R32 wheel size, question

Hi i just recently purchased an R32 Skyline, 1991. I'd like to get some new rims on it but i have no idea where to start. I'd like 18's on it but i'm not sure of the proper sizing.

Will 18's fit? and how wide can I go ont he front and back?

I'm I only KINDA understand how "offsets" work. but i'm not sure what kind of offset i should be looking for, for my specific car.

any help is greatly appreciated

Go through this thread and read everyones comments on offset, tire width, and rubbing. There is posts about all GT-R's, so there is alot of stuff to dig through.

It seems that 18x9.5 is the most popular size/width with offsets from the +15 to +22 range. Most people run 255's or 265's, but some offsets rub with 265s. Personally...I love the Work Termist S1C (post 146 on page 10).

For R32 GTR, if there are times when you want to use the stock 16 x 8s,225/50/16 is a factory tire size but I prefer 225/55/16. Offset is +30 .17inch- I 've tried 17x9 +20 offset which is the recommended offset by all the Japanese rim companies to pass Japanese inspection. But I think 17 x9 +15-17 would be better since that will make it flush with the fender. Tire size is 255/40/17.18inch- I've tried 18x9 +20 too with 255/35/18.I actually prefer 17s vs 18s since 1. ride is more comfortable 2. in Japan, most R32 GTRs use 17s so easier to see some samples of how they look3. imho more tire with low offset rims look so much tougher than low profile skinny tires.
