My 1994 Q - ran like a dream till a couple of weeks ago. The car shuddered at lights and If i run it longer the shuddering increases.

Took it to the mechanic - he says a couple of injectors have gone bad and needed to replace them. the replacement cost too much that I cant afford it.

Is it a DYI job?Can some one help me with the steps if it is.

Where can I find replacement injectors?

Thanks,Much help.

New injectors are best purchased from Joe.

All others are used. Even rebuilt. They are a wear item. Caveat emptor.

To my knowledge NO ONE truely totally rebuilds Q injectors, not cost effective.

Most injectors are just junkyard takeouts polished up or overstocks and rejects finding their way back into circulation.

Rebuilt might just mean new plastic spray director caps?

The injector was only used in 90-93 and 94-96 Q, 300zxtt, and a SR20DET

Note that the prices are for top feed injectors only! Our 370cc are unique side feed.

Dealing with side feed takes about 4 time longer per injector.

Still if they would actually do all they promised even $60 each would be a deal.

They did all 8 of my Q injectors and I was quite pleased with the outcome. All were flow-matched and when I ohmed them, they were identical across the board.

Maddie - It's not a super-easy job, but it can be done by the average non-retarded weekend wrencher. I'd recommend pulling both fuel rails, shipping them off to Deatschwerks, and paying them a few extra bucks to remove and replace the nijectors from the rail (after they refurbish them).

Buying new injectors is obviously the perfect scenario, but that bill can exceed the value of many remaining Q45's.

Using the BG Pressure Tank and doing an on car rail flush and run for 15 minutes does an excellant job if all injectors are equal ohms and not failing from ethanol exposure and swelling.

The set up and solvents run ~~$100 and takes an hour. This should be accompanied with an extra cost injector ohm test and a fuel filter change and a can of BG 44k in the tank roughly ~~ $225 for all. Dealer prices may be higher.
