the car is a 95 standard...

I recently uninstalled my aftermarket radio and re installed the factory bose hu and none of the windows, locks, or seat postion controls work...on the driver/passenger door or the center counsel. cheked all the fuses under dash and under the hood and nothing was blown. i went to track down the problem the next morning and the car was dead. i changed the battery...it was not holding any voltage...since the change the windows, locks and seat controls seem to work fine. however the door marker lamps remain lighted. i tried to unplug the lights from each door and now the green lights on the drivers seat memory buttons keep blinking.

could not having the factory "amps" hooked to the speakers be the cause of this? its just the only theory i can come up with because all was well with the aftermarket radio installed.

very sorry for the long post...

James

Sorry you had to wait so long for an answer. It sounded familiar to me so I went searching. Didn't find a final answer, but I found the familiar thread:

My guess is a short somewhere. That would explain your dead battery, too. Time to dig out the multimeter - test all the fuses (they can "look good" and not be good) and check for any power drain. Are the old Bose amps completely out of the system? All you did was to unplug the harness from the aftermarket HU and plug it into the Bose HU?

Odd that most of it went away when you changed the battery.

Again, sorry no one responded to you. And thanks for giving us the solution. It'll be in the archives now for the next guy.
