I have ordered several pairs or shocks for different Nissan products that Ive owned through Shox.com. They have been pretty good to me and they have good prices. I have a delema though with my Infiniti. I have a 95 parts car and I have the 92 Q45 that is the builder. The 95 has a severly damaged driver side front strut that I dont want to use. I am trying to finish the conversion that will eliminate the active suspension on my 92. I wanted to keep it, but its just to expensive and I should have a good ride without it. Anyway So Tokico lists a shock for the 92 and a different shock for the 95.

1994 - 1996 HU2890A FRONT HU2892 REAR y071990 - 1993 HU2890 FRONT HU2892 REAR y07

So someone want to give me a hand?I replaced the broken strut on the 95 with one from my 92 to drive it home. I saw no difference and was wondering if the a was for a Active suspension model. Shox.com says that its a indicator that a brake line is in a different spot. Im not sure how accurate that is because it doesnt sound right to me.

ThanksRay

They dont have tokico's for active cars. COuld it be possible the car was already converted?

On the active cars theres a hydraulic line going to the top of the strut and on the bottom there is a small canister looking thing (kinda looks like an oil filter).

The car looks to have been converted already that is why Im pulling off all the active suspension parts and trying to use the 95 with no active suspension to make the car complete and functional.

The struts are different from 90-93 to 94-96. Different diameter ends where it attaches to the knuckle.

Ok well then I need some more help then.

The 95 is a non active suspension model. The 92 was converted, but I dont trust anything about what the PO did to it. I would very much like to install the struts from the 95 onto my 92. The catch is that the 95 was involved in an accedent that broke the steering knuckle where the tie rod connects. The broken knuckle comes off and the 92 knuckle looks to do the same and they should(fingeres crossed) swap across. So I need to order the shocks for the 92 and use the steering knuckles from the 92 on my 92. So the question I need to ask is will the coils in front swap over from the 95 to the 92?

The standard spings are the same on 90-96 Q45.........146front/123rear....since the weight has not changed more than ~~200 pounds.

The lower mounting "hole" on the shocks from a 90-93 are smaller and will nt fit on a 94-96.

If your 92 is/was converted, I'd say all bets are off, as who know what parts/how it was done ... unless you did it.

FWIW, shocks from a 94-96 will fit onto a 90-93, but there will be some play as the dimeter difference is about 2-3 mm.
