Not bad, don't like the color you did the Nissan badge in though.

It'll come together... I'm having the bottom done in red as well... And I'll be filling the letters back in with black probably... It's just all part of the Sopwith Camel theme! I've been pondering it for awhile and when I got the newest baby, I decided to go for it!

Nice! If anyone wants a grille and badge to try this with, I have an extra one (my old one wasn't damaged in the accident, but the body shop ordered a new one anyway and let me keep the old one).

The grille looks nice, but I think the original emblem color would look better. That contrast between red and blue just makes my eyes bleed...

EV, You'd better avert your eyes, or grab the Kleenex, cause it's red and blue all round!

I am soooo ped that they put the bracket on crooked!!!!!

And that's the same paint I used on the grill so it is color matched!!! yippee!!

Cost me about $45 in paint and tape. The paper we used to cover the car that we've had for years so ... yeah.

EEEHHHH!!!!

Yeah, I wasn't crazy about the 'front plate' until I got my first SOPWTH plate and it had a cloud on it... I decided that I needed to show that off... (It was just sooo appropriate!)

Do a layer or 2 of clear coat to protect what you painted.

Each piece has at least three ;oD and I'm gonna ask the dealership if they'll put the paint protectant on it as well!

Thanks for caring ;oD I appreciate it!!

At first I wasn't feeling it, but now it's growing on me the more I look at it...it's definitely unique. The red Nissan symbol contrast gives the grille some pop.

Kimber, you're gonna start a trend...

I love reading your posts, they always make me grin.

Let's get some blue headlight overlays on that car!!!!!

p.s. Don't bother with the "paint protectant" the dealer uses. I have a bunch of it, and it's nothing more than a paint sealant like Zaino (called NXT).

KimberKenobi that looks so sick. I really like what you have done. Its not tacky at all. Oh and the grill and emblem is hot. I was thinkin of puting vinyl red behind the logo. Anyways keep it up!

Here's the question of the hour... Are the "VERSA" and the logo on the rear hatch red as well? If not they should be! I really like what you've done!

Oh they will be!!! I'm going to do the centered "VERSA" again!!!

I'm picking up the badges Friday to paint (I have to wait for them both to come in) and then we're placing everything!

I'm so excited!!

I'll get my new decals (Roundel and Prop) this week and hopefully I'll be able to get the diagonal stripes next month for my b-day and then the exterior will be done!

After that, it's on to CAI and exhaust!!!! eeeehhhh!!!!

Thanks for all the wonderful comments!!! ;oD (I smile every time I see my car, that's how I know it was worth it)

Lemme ask you a question... (because that's what I do ;oD)

The stuff they put on my car is called Xylon and it forms a smooth layer over the paint. It sealed the edges of my decals to the car and my car usually comes show-room clean with just water and a micro-fiber cloth...

I don't feel one way or the other about getting the Xylon because at this point I already paid for it (in December, they gave it to me again for free since my trade in had it) and I don't think they're going to charge me to cover the skirts and grill...

I guess I'm just wondering if the stuff they put on is different that stereotypical 'paint protectant' or if it was a good investment the first time (which I got it at cost and I'm not supposed to say how much... but it was cheap. Like... not-much-more-than-my-decals cheap.)

Additional: (2 questions for the price of 1 ;oD)What are these blue overlays we are talking about... is there something I should know?? I was thinking of masking and painting an eyelid on my headlights... but what you are talking about sounds different...

I have them on my G35, Kimber. You'll love them.

They don't affect light output noticeably.

As far as the paint protectant, it's the same as Zaino, which is an awesome product. It's just not worth dealership prices, you can order it online and do it yourself.

You're making me want to buy a Versa and make it The Red Baron ...

So, basically, if it's free, don't worry about it, if it isn't, do it myself. check.
