Hey all, this is my first post... sorry if I make any sort of newbie mistake

My problem: basically, it is more of an annoyance than anything... when I press the power windows up to the second notch on the driver's side window, it goes all the way up (like it is supposed to) but when it reaches the complete closure it lowers itself about 1/4 of the way. Is there some way I can fix this or re-calibrate it? I'm guessing it is a sensor problem but I just wondered if anyone else experienced similar problems? Other than that I love me car.

my passenger window is doing same thing. I hope someone knows something about this. I have to hold the switch in the up position and then lock out the window control.

I just got off the phone with Infiniti and they told me that this is a common problem with Nissan/Infiniti cars/vans and all that needs to be done is to pull the door panel to reveal the power window motor panel area.... and hit the reset button... he said it is sort of like an re-calibration because either that motor had been replaced or a battery has been replaced because it was dead. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this timely info. This just started with my 03 G35 sedan. I recently replaced the battery. I think that I'll have my body shop guy pull the door panel. PeteM.

Yes an annoyance as it has just started to happen to mine. My dealer told me it's sensor issue that is easily adjusted... for a small fee of $60! Buggers!!

I had my '04 Coupe 6MT at the Annapolis dealership for the same issue on the pass. side. They were great in replacing the regulator. (They also tightened a couple of loose bolts on the driver's side, which had a ratteling window.)

Did your window also fail to do the 1/4"-1/2" jump after the door closed? Mine wasn't. Fortunately, there weren't any clearance, weather, or pressure issues.

my window (drivers side) does the same thing. goes all the way up, the halfway down again. does not auto adjust for opening and closing of the door. took off door panel(fairly simple) and pushed what i believe was reset button, but still does the same thing. anyone know of anything else? probally regulator or sensor. taking to dealer, so they can rape me for repair!

This just happened on my driver's door. The dealer replaced I believe the window motor or something under warranty. The reset button thing is not going to work. You will have to have it replaced.

retiming the window motor will not fix the problem...needs a new window motor. as for the holding the window switch thing...that only works on 07's and up.

Holysheetman is right, resetting the window does work. I just did this on a 2003 Coupe with the window down a quarter problem.

The door panel is simple to take off, just the two plastic clips at the front of the door, one screw by the door release handle, and two behind the plastic trim piece that you pull the door closed with. That plastic piece just pops off from the bottom. The rest is just pop clips around the door edge. Took me about 3 minutes to take off for the first time. Probably a minute if I did it again. The reset switch sits behind a small black sticker about the size of a nickel right in the middle of the door. Here's the procedure direct from Alldata.

ResettingAfter installing each component to the vehicle follow the steps below.

1. Raise the glass to the top dead center. 2. While pressing and holding the reset switch lower the glass to the bottom dead center. 3. Release the reset switch and check the reset switch returns to the original position and then raise the glass to the top dead center.

CAUTION: Do not operate the glass automatically to raise the glass to the top dead center.
