They are selling it for $400 (for 5 years). I have 18" on my G35 Sport (stock rims). they said that any bubbles/dent in rims will get covered by the insurance. Anybody have it? Any experience with it?

Thank You

Skip it.

You can replace all 4 tires for $600.

Also, people are always selling stock wheel / tire setups.

Set that $ aside for tires later on - Your regular insurance covers damage to your wheels and tires if you hit something, and any defects in the wheel or tire are already warranteed by Infiniti and the tire manufacturer.

Damn dealerships...

My main concern are the bubbles that I might get from pot holes. Being that these are 18", im sure ill get a lot of those.

But thank you for your input.

I did it for my 19's...but they're forged and expensive. I might not do it for cast wheels.

You're call...

Make sure you READ it carefully.

If it excludes damage for any reason, they'll weasel out of replacing the tire. If it requires weekly air pressure checks or some other stupid maintenance, they'll weasel out. If it's pro-rated, you're only getting a part of the tire cost, and the rest will be eaten up my dismount / mount / balance.

Sorry, I find tire warranties to be a joke for the most part. Might even consider swapping on some 17's for winter use, 18's are inappropriate for potholed roads.

I was more concerned with rim damage from hitting something with low-profile tires...at $1,400 a piece, I'd hate to replace one.

Totally agree with AZhitman on the tire portion of the insurance....as worthless as tire manufacturer's insurance!

i skipped it. I've got the lather insurance for $200 canadian. They replace it even if it was my fault(cut, burn wear). That's pretty good.

I haven't had any damage occur to mine in 10 months so far and I know I haven't dodged all the potholes I've come across and mine are 18" wheels only difference I see between the 17 and 18 would be the sidewall flex and bounciness. The 18s will be a harsher ride but in my experience also not as bouncy.

I always get the insurance on my wifes cars because she tends to hit curbs. We had it on a Volvo C70 and had 2 wheels and tires replaced with no hassle at all. She has it on her current 350Z Roadster and we have had one wheel and tire replaced with no problem at all. It all depends on how you drive, I have had no tires or wheels damaged in years.
