I don't know for sure but when i put mine in and changed the timing belt mine made a whining noise to. I had the tensioner to tight. I loosened it some and it stopped. Just a suggestion.

Shouldn't the shop that did the swap know? Its only fair since you paid them to swap in the ca. Anyways. Even though the mainstream music isnt very tasteful, Im glad that its running.

Quick check. Unbolt the clamp and loosen the intake off the turbo. Than check for shaft play or any liquid (oil, maybe even coolant). It could also be your belts. Cant confirm with the music though.

Also for the belts, I had the same thing happened. Spray a little bit of wd-40 on the pulleys to help relieve the squeaks. Make sure your tension is good on the belts. Try twisting one area and if it twists all 180 degrees or more than its too loose.

It sounds like one of those noisemakers that you blow into on New Years... called a razzer or something?

I'm betting its a air leak at one of your rubber couplings, cause its definitely related to your boost. For example, grab a balloon and pull the sides of the part where you blow in away from each other and blow in. It makes the exact same sound... lol, I should make a video of it! haha

my buddies car had that problem.. check ur gaskets on the o2 housing down pipe and if u have any coming off ur turbo... most likely its a gasket vibrating really fast and it makes a whistling noise

That same sound was made when I put my SR turbo on. Check the three bolts on the outlet to the hotpipe. I was still using the CA bolts and they were about 10mm shorter than the SR bolts that connect the outlet to the turbo and they werent catching well enough.

Since you called me out in a public forum, though our transaction was in private (As I do with everyone I deal with), what is the real problem. You say you hear whining, then and exhaust leak and then an hour later you determine you have a blown turbo? Somebody who really knows about turbocharged engines should be able to diagnose your issue without taking educated guess'.........

I FOUND THE EXHAUST LEAK... but.. the turbo still whines...??? and breaks up boost at peak boost so....what the hell? i asked 4 different people and they say the turbo is blown...and im sorry after spending almost 10 g's Im pretty pissed off at my shop-i understand about the ca turbo but I AM BROKE!!!! and i hate it because i keep GETTING F*CKED cuz im a girl it sux....sorry boost_boy no disrespect but i just thought i woulda had a decent turbo for the first couple of runs...

I truly planned on making your trip worth while had you brought me the car. I feel sorry for you because you feel people are screwing you because you're a girl. I've been honest and straight forward as I can be to most and have never misappropriated anyone's funds (meaning you got what you paid for and sometimes a little more). If it was the engine, then I'd worry, but those CA turbos are throw-away items from day one. I offered you to let me repair it and not make you feel so violated like the people you servicing your ride, but you chose the route you chose and you have to roll with that choice. And honey, for 10 grand, I would've promised you a 500+whp monster with some $$$s to spare with a 6 month warranty regardless of what you used the car for and no one around is prepared to offer you something like that. If you still need a fresh turbo, I'll help you get one if you want or you can take your chances with the ebay stuff or something used.
