i'm assuming its n/a..... who in their right mind would take a ka24 240 over a tt 300zx, if they are in the same condition and same price

I know I wouldn't :p

Both are very reliable cars, but both will need general and preventative maintenance because of their age.

Here are some cons I know of to help w/ the decision

300zx:Very pricey for the ageHeavyAftermarket is more expensivePITA to work onInsurance is more than 240sx

240sx:The new CivicTheft rate seems to be climbingPrice is climbing well above actual valueSlow in stock form

Z31's don't count.

Comparing a Z31 to a Z32 is a laugh.

That's like comparing a SOHC KA s13 to an SR equipped silvia.

Love ya beaner.

If it's a Z32 tt I would go with that. It also depends on your plans for it.

The laugh is that you still call your car a Nissan 300zx. I think with the parts stolen from a B-52, it looks more like a Boeing, than a Nissan. Like ya too Jerry

I see no advantage of a 240 over a 300z.

None.

The 300 is a better looking car, faster, nicer interior, cooler, less ricey (except for Jerry's car), sportier, cooler.

The 240 is just a doritio car that the ricers like, the 300 is the real deal.

The 300 just looks beautiful even in plain jane stock form (na). The 240 just is second class tot he 300.

The only people who will choose the 240 over the 300 are people who can't afford the 300.

I'm so glad someone finally said that. 240 or 300? That's a joke. There is absolutely no reason to take a 240 of ANY year/trim over ANY Z32.Well, except to be JDM tyte, yo....

Yep.

Throwing my hat into the ring. I would get a 240 over a z because i like to work on my cars not have my cars work me. That effing engine bay is tight. I have a lot of room in the bay of the 240, + gas mileage is usually better although now im getting mileage around the same as an ls1 so ehh.

Hahahahahha you're joking right? Some of us don't like the 300zx's. If I wanted one, I could have one right now. But you know what? I like my s13 with the S14 SR JUST FINE. Interior maybe outdated, but the styling is forever love for me(at least with the S13 front and brick lights). Please keep your ignorant statements off the board buddy.

I too prefer the 240.

I have owned 2 S13s, 1 S14, and I currently own a Z32 TT.

You are 16. I don't know you at all, but based on the 16 year olds I knew, and how I was when I was 16, a 300 is NOT a good idea. A 240 is a great starter car and will teach you a lot, while with the KA, it is hard for you to kill yourself. As your skills grow, your 240 has the ability to grow with you. A 300, especially a TT is a lot of car and easy to get out of hand. There are a TON of aftermarket parts for the 240, and LOTS of options for customization. Also is this your first car? If so, I would advise buying a 240 for another reason. A lot of drivers kill their first car learning to drive. 240 parts are generally cheaper and more readily available. A 240sx shell is VERY easy to get your hands on in the event you total your car, and any aftermarket parts you don't destroy in the crash transfer easily to the next shell. Aside from that there is much to be learned from a underpowered, well handling car. it will teach you to develop your braking and cornering skills, to make up for the lack of power in the engine.

240 for the learning value. It will make you a better driver, and when you have learned all the 240 has to teach you, you can move to a Z and be a safer, better driver for your patience.
