Pretty simple to do, I am sure everyone can figure it out if they want it. I had to do this because my ignition switch went out, and I didn't feel like buying another for $150.
What you need:
Momentary toggle, or Push Start Button (make sure if you use a toggle, it is a momentary...otherwise, if you switch it on, your starter will keep going)Wire (I used dual speaker wire)Wire connector (for starter connection)
1. Unplug the starter plug, and hook a connector with a wire on it to the starter. 2. Run the wire through to where you plan on mounting your toggle/button.3. Run another wire from the positive cable on the battery to the same location.4. Connect to toggle/button, and mount.
Simple, cut and dry lol. I mounted mine beside the steering wheel, on the left hand side where cruise control usually is (base model.) Only problem is I had to use a toggle (autozone didn't have any good looking buttons, not to mention that their buttons wouldn't fit anyway.)
Now, when you insert your key and turn the car to start it, nothing happens. Push the button, or flip the momentary toggle, and it turns over. If the key is not in the ignition, it will turn over still, but will not start. So, its could be another form of antitheft, paired with a couple of other things.
