i had a s13 which stock comes with the 17". then i put some enkei mesh 92's on which are 15". i know that it awould affect my speedo, but how much of a difference is it? the wheel has to rotate more than usually so ill be slower is that right? im still thinking how i over heated my engine on the freeway going 70mph steady and blew the head gasket.

oh and while im at it. what do u guys feel about s14's on enkei mesh 15x7 0 offset? i know some hate it. i just want to see diferent opinions like they belong on s13, or s14's r hotter on 18". ect. thanks nico

i daily drive on 15's on my s13, i dont think your blown headgasket is related. smaller wheels will make the speedo go faster.

15" on s14 = fail

wheel sizes would have absolutely nothing to do with your problem.

first, if you up-size your tires correctly, there shouldn't be a detectable difference in your speedometer reading. second, there is no way that had anything to do w/ you blowing your head gasket (btw if it's an SOHC i have a brand new HG laying around)

alright id figure that wheels didnt matter. i guess ill sell my unknown 18" w/1 inch lip that came with the car to get a set of 18" with a nicer lip. maybe even sell the enkei mesh 92 too. who knows, thanks for the input.

i refuse to use any higher sidewall on my 15" than 205/55. i know stocks came with 195/60, but theres no way in hell i'm doin that, lol. i'll take my speedo change

Since when did any car pre 1995 come with 17" wheels and wasn't some REAL high end car? 15's came on the S13 as stated with 195/60/15's

Then you change to 18 wheels.. so I don't know which size you actually have.. But if you went with 195/60 on your enkei's you'd be stock. If you went to 205/55, you'd be stock, 225/50's are a WEE little off and say you're going slower than you actually are. Difference is minimal at 50mph according to your speedo, you may actually be doing 55, anything below that would be off by less than 5mph for sure. Anything above that either you're on a highway and cruising at the stated speed limit should be safe (to avoid trouble with the law) or you should probably be slowing down for sure to avoid trouble eh?

ARGUMENT.

anyways, just get it adjusted, not knowing how fast you're going is always bad, even if you're going with the flow of traffic.

your headgasket problem, has absolutely nothing to do with your wheels like every has stated.

you've got far worse problems then wheels going on. rebuild your engine, or get a new one.

grrr. my only beef with rollin on 15's is following my friends in their S-14s with 17" wheels. To top it off, i run 50 series tires all around on most days. An hour trip behind those guys sucked!! oh well, i'm lookin to get a trailer anyways.

whoops its 15? sorry for the confusion then. the car is gone and so r the stock rims. you see i had a s13 and all that crap happened now i drive a s14 with 18" and im sure about it too. the gasket thing happened right after i got my meshies on so i duno i was just thinking back on what i did wrong to get it damage. for right now i think that the gasket was bad already wheni bought it and didnt pay attention to it untill on the freeway the throttle gave up and the coolant resevoir tank was steaming. the sparkwires poped out and smoke came out. definatly gasket because of oil in the coolant. thats that.im not a total newb here.

yeppers you're all over it. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't bigger problems than a head gasket at this point.. Sounds like a whole new engine would be the more hassle free direction to go here.

yes so i was told by many. i wanted to get a SR swap in. but after lots of research i came to the conclusion that an SR would be more hassle where i only need a DD for now while in college. was gonna go with the smog exempt route but it would take me too long and break my bank. now i have a 1995 240 with 87Kmiles on it. i hope this will last me a while.
