I understand you don't want anyone to profit from your hard work. But it will be hard to search for this info, find your name, and get in contact with you, lets say 2 years from now. If the info is posted, it can be searched for, and viewed, as long as the forum is around.

This is by no way directed at you, but is just the general atmosphere I feel here sometimes. I am glad people can make money by modifying wiring harnesses. I don't particularly like responses to questions stating they know the answer but won't share, or that write-up is really old and needs updating but they are not going to do it, because they need to make money. I spent the time doing the wiring on a S13 ka24e at to RB20 mt, the outdated guides were a good starting point, but I spent a ton of time with the service manuals and going through the wiring harnesses to get everything right. I am currently working on getting all the info together in a simple (to me) format to share, and hopefully it will enable many more swaps with DIY wiring, including all the wiring needed for the dash (missing in all the write-ups I have found), consult, etc. Sorry for the rant. Maybe consider reposting your info for everyone to access.

Hey,

I'm actually currently working on doing a NEO swap, it is a real pain to find any info. I sent you an email, let me know if you didn't get it. Thanks!

Ahh man, what the hell is this....

With all due respect, you're probably a smart, cool guy. Your swap looks very clean in your signature. I'm sure you've put in thousands of dollars and hours upon hours of research into your project. We all have...

At the same time, I'm sure you've learned a great deal of information that was freely available to you from other "pioneers" who took the time to document and post their findings just to help people like you along, without the fear (or intrigue) of profit.

By refusing to make this information public, you are helping keep it profitable (supposedly the thing you're trying to avoid). If this information was laying around everywhere, it would be very difficult for anyone to profit from it. Any DIYer in his garage could bust out a soldering gun and have at it, no need to send the harnesses off to those few with the information needed to make it happen.

Perhaps that is exactly what you want -- the ability to profit from it? In that case, you should really look into publishing this information as an e-book, an encrypted PDF that you pay $5 to download and read. That way you can sell your content and not miss out on any of the mountains of profit it's sure to generate.

Take a moment to think what would happen if everyone followed your example, and stopped posting useful, new information in an effort to ensure that nobody "profits" from it. How would that impact you, your swap, your projects?

LOL at this thread.

+1 , when something is open source, the price goes down.

He's the one that has done all the research and got all the charts and is willing to hand it out for FREE. I'd suggset everyone stop bitching before he changes his mind and keeps it all to his self.
