I decided to fix up one of the coupe seats since it was looking and feeling crappy. Also since my boyfriend drives it more than me, the headrest was uncomfortable for him.

So I bought bag of fiberfill, 2 yards of grey and 1/4 yards of blue Microfiber Suede

I took the seat off the slidders and hardware and used some crappy fabric I had extra and traced out some patterns. Layed them out, cut, sew, stuffed the fiberfill to make the padding bigger on the sides and about 3+ hours later had a nice looking seat And it feels like real suede.

I also bent the headrest back a bit by lying it on the ground flat and jumping on the points where the hole is.

It was really easy to sew, and I'm horibble at upholstery , but the fabric did have some elasticity to it so that helped a lot.

I don't know, I got the fabric on sale for 60% off. A yard of the microfiber suede runs about $12 to 14. So costs of supplies would run about $30 each chair.

I might considar doing some custom orders, but I want to make a set for my seats in my hatch first, so I can perfect the patterns. I also tacked the covers onto the seat, so I'll need to find a way to make it easier to attach for those who don't know how to sew.

I'd like to see a set with that good marine vinyl that looks like leather on the sides and the microfiber or even real leather inlay.

Did you use any spray adhesive to get the fabric to follow the conture of the seat or did you just stretch it? How will they fasten in the back/bottom?

You know, you could make some good coin making these.

Yeah Joann's, I'm on their mailing list so on average I get a 40% discount in the mail almost every week. I do costume and prop commissions on the side.

The fabric had some elasticity, so I made the pattern smaller that the original so the fabric would stick to the chair. I might considar vinyl in my car, but I'll need to find some that can breathe, or else it will get sticky when summer comes around. Since people seem interested I'll try to find some way to make this work.

NK's a lucky guy.

Pretty girl with an S13, artistic talent, smart and ambitious, and not afraid to tackle a car project?

That's a winner.

Is the fabric around the hole in the headrest simply tucked into the plastic trim piece or is it somehow attached?

The seat looks great!

If you do another you should make it into a write-up. My wife is thinking about doing this for me and it would be really helpful.
