oh, so funny you should ask, i just did it!! unfortunately, i am at work so i dont have pics with me but i will upload one later this evening. i havent started the car with the new setup but i dont think i will have any probs. once you see my pic, you will know what i mean when i say that you can do it better if you can find an aluminum bend. i was only able to source a straight pipe so mine is not ideal. ideally, you would want to have the -an fitting facing the rear of the engine a little more to avoid having to use a 90 degree fitting. should work either way though.

Awesome I bet this was a lot easier then freakin taking off and tapping the oil pan huh? Also you should test it by slapping on the stock exhaust mani and have the oil feed line dump straight into the drain line to see if it backs up or not. But yah pics will be awesome.

Seems like removing the lower timing cover is much more of a PITA than the oil pan...but that's my opinion, not fact.

Cool idea, though.

maybe im dumb but i cant post it so i can email it to you if you give me your email. as for the pan, mine is tapped already but i have a custom pan (motor in a 510) that i made and i was worried about the oil not draining because the drain insertion point was about halfway covered when the oil level was at maximum. in order to avoid any possible probs i just put a block off fitting on the pan and went this route. as for being a prob to remove the front cover...i agree. i actually had to remove it to check some clearances with the pickup tube i made so i decided to tap it while it was off. if i wouldnt have taken it off for other purposes, i probably would have just used the pan and taken my chances.

How do you figure? At least you don't have to go through any sway bars and worry about the stupid oil pick up, or that it's going to leak heh.

finally, here it is thanks to the help of WDRacing. if u were wondering why there is a water pump block-off plate its because i am using an electric water pump. The paint on it is still wet so there is tape over the threads of the -10an fitting but it is there. i had a piece of aluminum tubing welded in and the -10an weld bung is on the tip (again covered by tape so it just looks black).

Its SO easy to post a picture as long as the pic is already hosted online somewhere. Find the pic you want to post, rt click on the pic, go to properties at the bottom, copy the web address, then go to the post you want to put the pic in, click on the insert img button, these [IMG][/IMG] will show up, then paste the web address for the picture between the 2 img tags. Heres an example [img] http://webaddressgoeshere [/img]

If you email me all your pics, I'll host them online for you and then add them here. [email protected]

That should do ya.

You can't use your email addy as the web address for the picture. You need to upload your pics to a hosting site like http://www.picshome.com they have free image hosting.

Anyway, I got your email, hosted the pic and edited your post with the new web address.

ahh isn't that the WP block off plate he made? I think the drain is the tube hanging off the (front view) right hand side.

Because the pickup tube is attached to the front cover and won't slide out of the pan with the pan still bolted to the block.

So, either way, the pan has to come off.

No matter what you gotsta take the pan out because from what i remember you wont clear it when your pulling it out because of the pick up. lol im scared just thinking about it because i have to remove the front timing cover because someone else worked on it and its leaking oil on the sides.

if you know some taht can weld aluminum, you can weld an adapter to the timing cover and use braided line.

You can do the same in the pan.
