I searched and read the sticky on how much and where people were getting their RB's from but after installation(for those who went to shops) how much did it cost you when it was all said and done? Im curious about the rb20 and the rb25.

Shell - 500Motorset, shipped - 2100Driveshaft - 300 shippedMounts - 460 (i think)Koyo Rad - 325 shippedElectric fans - 339 (with controller)

I'm also getting FMIC and eventually a Greddy intake w/ Q45 TB. Bare minimum to get it in and running was mounts, motorset, shell and driveshaft. Youll probably need a downpipe as well. Get in on the 250 + shipping GB from that Aussie company. Wiring is pretty easy.

Not to threadjack... but I finally found out why my wipers and AC wasn't working!! Took a close look at the fuse box. The cig lighter fuse was melted and jammed in with foil. Took apart the back of the fuse box to find some shorted wires. Above, the AC one, and below, the wiper one. Pics up tomorrow Grrr..

Sadly enough, I have kept track and it is scary. I spent $7,150 for the S14 in 2002 and have spent over $16,000 on the motor and everything else. Only suspension modification is a Whiteline sway bar.

So total, I have $23,150 into the project and I haven't made any power, suspension, or wheel/tire upgrades yet.

car 2700motor set 2600mods 2500+new up coming setup 2000

Theres some numbers im missing, but whatever... It was like 8000 to finish my RB swap with my money and my labor. I already have pretty much completed suspension and drivetrain though, so thats why the cost is a little high. I dont care that ive spent this much, its my hobby and life and i enjoy working hard for it.

LOL!! I know EXACTLY what you mean, but whatever. Still cheaper then buying a new used car that got some power ya know?

With RB20 into a S13 I've spent at least 9g and the car still isn't running. I'm ordering FMIC, Custom IC piping, Gasket Kit, Suspension, Bov, hoses, clamps, etc. I'd say about 4g more tops. Then I can work on the cars accessories

i have no idea how much this one cost me so far.. it started out as a great deal....now, not so much.

I hear you, I think I am in the 15 to 18k range. Doing the swap is "cheap". Doing it right is a used WRX

Wow... Guess I should be thankful mine is running? I didn't do the swap unfortunately but I'm currently re-wireing it and cleaning up the garbage left behind.

How that even possible lol

edit: When you all say shell you mean a 240 without an engine right?

yup, shell = no engine or trans. thats what mine was also. you start replacing things, and get out of control. "while the motor is out, might as well replace the clutch.. lets get a flywheel while im at it". that sort of crap. i spun out of control. heres a list of most of the crap i have on the car/going on the car. theres a bunch of stuff i havnt listed yet also. start looking up prices for these things. you gotta pay to play...

http://www.freewebs.com/wedriv...n.htm

example, i have $1300 worth of brakes comming to my doorstep on thursday. not to mention i also have Z brakes sitting here in my room in a box...

I wanted to build it for the experience, uniqueness, and potential. The car is gutted and making whatever hp it gained from a FMIC and straight exhaust. The actual garage time was about a month, took me about 6 months of research before I bought anyting though.

Nothing inside the motor is stock except for the valves and the crankshaft itself and even that has been micropolished and had the JUN crank collar installed. It is easy to get to $16K especially when you are good about keeping tabs on little $15 items like exhaust manifold studs and fluids. Hell, I went through enough royal purple transmission fluid to flood out my garage once. That's $50 right there.

No, I put it in to fulsh the old oil out of the engine. I'm a firm believer in AMS oil or Redline synthetics.

I payed $2,700 plus tax for the car.

$7,720.24 in mods installed on the car after labor shipping and tax including rb20 swap. the only things with labor were the RB20 and FMIC fabbing.

The shop charged me $2,500 installed for the RB20.

I made this list a while back. The updated version wont format to fit the forum.
