i've got some 17x9's i'm gonna be putting on the 240 pretty soon. so as far as the rear tire i wanted to make sure a 255 would be abot right for that wheel size. i've also got some 17x8 up front that i'll be running 235's on.

also, whats a good preformance tire for the summer. this car will never get driven in the rain so i don't have to wory about that. i was thinking about the falken azenas(sp). but whats someting else i could pick up for about 150 a tire.

If you like more of a stretched look225/45/17245/40/17

Khumo MX's are going to be a very good tire for less than $150 a pop..

more info........it will be on an s14, the s13 is the daily

also, would there be any disadvantage with going with a smaller side wall? something like a 255/35 would take off about 1.2 cm. this would reduce sidewall flex from what i understand and have minimal impact on the contact patch...

this car will see track time and driven on the street from time to time. so enlighten me please.

smaller sidewall = less flex. however, you also get proportionately less tire tread surface... of course, the differences are negligible for most track racers.

If you are chopping off diameter in the rear, you will be in a higher rpm to go the same speed. This could be a good thing or bad thing depending on how your will be used, if you are concerned about mpgs, where your powerband is & what kind of speeds/rpms the car will see daily/track.

As for tire recommendation:

Federal SS595 . On special too: Federal SS595 Special - and these sidewalls are PLENTY stiff. We run these ourselves @ autox regionally.

If you want a more expensive and stickier tire, we can get you the Federal 595RS. We can also get Falkens, Kumhos, Yokohamas, etc - just give us a call for those since we don't have it up on our site yet.
