I got these pics from a friend last week. Ever since I was little kid the autoplane is been sitting in front of this guys house.....many years. Sort of one of those projects you might finish one day. Every time we drove to Mayaguez, PR the autoplane sat there like a freak aeronautical experiment gone bad. Still sitting there. Try to guess the auto parts used on the build up and I'll give you a cookie.

Remember this was back in the day when is all about wild customs and no "JDM tyte, Yo" stuff....

I suspect a tractor and at least one retired dishwasher were sacrificed for the product.

Looks like a 30s Chevy Coupe. And the vents look very Shelby GT esqe. The fins look like Olds/Caddi, but It's hard to say for sure.

Rear panel of a Cadillac El Dorado 1957 a "slightly" modified rear Mustang 65 Fastback windshield pillars. It also looks like is rolling on a fully functional suspension system....

I pretty sure the start for that project was a 30's Chevy Coupe. The sliding windows, roof line, and where the front wheel sits in relation to the door and some of the front lines really look like it. I bet that was really just a "body kit" for it.

I agree. Nothing scarrier / more entertaining than a redneck with time and a welder.

* Hey, amolao, I bet they will also going with a rotary swap.*

That would it been priceless, I guess this makes the longest project in history, over 45 years in the making.

Further down the road from this location, somebody took a real airplane and turned it into a cafe. Very nice, though. Alas those deco establishments in California. I'll try to get some pictures.
