5spd 6spd

is it possible to change my 5spd over to 6spd on my 91 240sx how hard would it be and is it wroth it?

You'll need a 6spd transmission, a custom adapter plate, custom mounts, custom driveshaft, and a custom shifter/shift linkage. If you can fabricate or pay for all that stuff, go for it.

Is it worth it.. Well, what kind of mods do you have? Unless you're nowhere near stock, and 5 gears aren't enough, I'd say no.

Ive done a little searching around, but rumor has it that 6spd SR tranys are weak and will break under heavy driving compared to the regualr 5spd. Can somebody verify this? Im seariously considering an s15 swap in my coupe and 6 forward gears sounds super baller status. Thanks fellas and sory for the thread-jack. -Shane

It is said to be weaker because of the thinner gears since they added the extra gear in the same sized gearbox, but the question is are u going to be boosting that much power?

IMO get an S13-14 SR and slap an S15 turbo on it. S15 is kinda pricey y0...
