I think we found your problem:You bought 2 pos cars, one with frame damage and you don't want lots of work....240DRFT wrote:how bout instead of 2 240s that sound like your having problems with, you sell both a get a decent one.
I bought the 91 for $700 and the red one i bought with the 7-spoke SE's (which i needed, the tires on the 91 were beyond driveable) for $300. I figured i could either spend $150-200 on the 7spokes alone or pay another 100 to get a full car.Red coupe wrote:I think we found your problem:You bought 2 pos cars, one with frame damage and you don't want lots of work....
Try buying only one car that doesn't suck with the money spent on two and all the repairs cars with things like bent frames are gonna need.
i have worked full time since i was 16 to afford my cars, and building them parents never bought any of my 240 fun parts (or any of my cars for that matter). yeah, they have all been stock and beat up at one time, but if you really want a well built 240, you have to work for it, and have to work on it. combine all the good parts from both cars and sell the other for parts.Black on Gold wrote:. I mean, im not spoiled by my parents and get a SR20'd Kouki for my 16th birthday or anything. My parents arent poor but just werent going to spend money on my car.
that is waaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper than either of my 240s were.Black on Gold wrote:

well what car do you expect to not take some for for 1k?Black on Gold wrote:I bought the 91 for $700 and the red one i bought with the 7-spoke SE's (which i needed, the tires on the 91 were beyond driveable) for $300. This is the way to go, plus it's so much more satisfying when you know you paid for the car yourself. I saved up money from working two summers to buy the 2001 I30 I'm driving now, and not only did I get a car that I can drive for the next 5-6 years I got the satisfaction of paying for it myself.Red coupe wrote:ok....I saved up 3k working afterschool and bought my 240 cash for less then 3g and have had very few problems because I didn't buy decepid abused 240's to start with....
Boy am I learning about that....8-5 in the hot sun lifting hoods, cv joints, doorpanels, wheel hubs, skyline steering wheels etc..(moving inside the shop tomorrow) and then collision repair class from 6-10 on mon-wed & fri (obviously not tonight.)srpowered240sx wrote:i have worked full time since i was 16 to afford my cars, and building them parents never bought any of my 240 fun parts (or any of my cars for that matter). yeah, they have all been stock and beat up at one time, but if you really want a well built 240, you have to work for it, and have to work on it. combine all the good parts from both cars and sell the other for parts.
Stick in there man. I'm sure someone needs a shell and would buy your non running shell at a price benefiting both of you.Black on Gold wrote:I've already fixed a vac leak. Recently might i add. Im thinking of possibly keeping the red one that has a hole in the block and a broken quarter window. Possibly to build that one but the black one has to go to get me a DD.
HAHAHAHA i wake up wondering what is going to break today. Seriously its kinda sad.~4N~ wrote:You're obviously not hardcore enough. Having a 240 as a daily driver is living on the edge. Only real Rambos can take living in constant uncertainty.
