  C's or B&M?

It's been forever since ive posted here so I decided to come back to my second home(1st being my actual residence)

Here's my "dilema". I can't decide which shifter to get. Everyone seems to have the B&M and aside from rattling there doesnt seem to be much to dislike about it, my exhaust rattles mroe than im sure this shifter can. I've heard people saying they have replica C's and they are great. I found a C's shifter for approx. $175+ s/h, which is substantially lower than the B&M $200+ price tag.

Does anyone have a C's that can chime in on the likes dislikes of the peice?

So far im leaning towards the C's simply due to price and a somewha good reputation for the replicas.

Any input is appreciated.

Also, ive heard the B&M to be a "tight fit" when shifting, can anyone enlighten this thought?

Been rockin my C's shifter for almost 8 years now, NEVER had any problems at all. No buzzing, no noises, no fitment issues. Works exactly like a stock shifter only half the the distance between gears. I love it.

b&m hands down the most precise shifter available w/ the shortest shifter throw. i've had mine for 2.5 years, as for the b&m being a tight fit, not in my experience, it is easy to find the gear you want, but when you miss a gear, you miss the sh17 out of it. i'm alot more consistant with my shifts with my b&m

B&M is the best. B&M copies are also good. I've had my replica for 8 months now with no issues whatsoever.

B&M is the best. I have had many different cars with different knock offs. This is the first name brand shifter i got, just installed my B&M last week and i love it. Installing the front two bolts was a B*$#@h though.

I have an OBX and while nice it is crap compared to B&M's set up. I personally tinkered with sdwyz's stick and it was schweet!!! I will be upgrading to one very soon!!

Get the C's. I didn't care for the BRM one bit. Most Vette owners wouldn't touch them for their Vettes either. Great shifter for what they are, but that damn rattling noise will piss you off.

B&M is not the best. It is the most Widely known name yes, but C's is better. I have it for my Hatch and since I am selling it my Boi is jumping on it right away. I paid 180 for it, hes paying the same. It is the C's Version 1 Shifter, which is hella lot better then B&M. Now this thread is of opinions, I have only driving a B&M on a 240 once and I liked the C's better. The quality of it is Better then B&M and there is no noise once so ever or Buzzing at High RPMz like B&M. I know the Version II do not Buzz but no C's Do. GET The C's and Be Happy.

I have a b&m.. it's weird though, it never made any noise, rattling, buzzing or anything in my s13... I just installed it in my s14, and it's always making noise.. it's not too bad, but noticable if you have teh windows up and no stereo going.

My friend who owns PandaGarage.com recommends the C shifter too. Says it's the shifter of choice over in Japan.

If I didn't have so many damn projects going on with the S13 and the FD, I'd get one right now. But alas, too many bugs to work out electrical wise. o.0

I've got this shifter (i think, it looks identical) I think its great! super precise and a good solid feel. I had a B&M on my T56 in my 69 camaro back when i was a domestic guy, and that was not signifigantly better than the knock-off. oh and the knock-off buzzes, but if you cant deal with that, sell your 240.

The B&M shifter I had, and the ones my friends have .. we all believe it is crap. It rattles and becomes unbearable after a while. For some reason though, I always read people having them for years and never having a problem.

For longevity purposes and from what I have read.. C's makes one sick ***, afordable shorty.

Well, I have the B&M knockoff and it rocks. Haven't had any issues with too much buzzing. Paid $65 total for it. i'm happy with it.

This thread should have had a poll.

C's are the best; it's been 1 year now since my C's install and from my experience nothing is better. I’ve driven cars with B&M; you can just tell the level of quality isn’t there when you compare the two. But then again maybe they didn’t put their B&M’s in right or something.

-my 2 cents
