Ok I went to discount auto parts and they said the chain guide was like $20. So I was like well "I seen them for like damn nere $400" they told me this was the timing chain guide so was I asking for the wrong part? When I go there what would be the right part I would need to ask them about? I need to find this out so I can get all this stuff done so my car will be fine. Also what is the size of the transmison cooler size? They said it was like a 12' but I dont know whats the real size so yall help me out so I can ride nice....

You buy this from Infiniti of Scottsdale. Your local parts store will not carry it, even if they claim to.

Your choice. 70268 goes better between condenser and radiator. 70264 has a little more BTU dissapation. I could swear it was 19K before.

Check the pictures under my name in Infiniti Member's Rides.

CALL JOE FOR ALL YOUR PARTS NEEDS, 1 888 216 5328(copied from elwesso's sig)

I ordered my "chain guide replacement kit" from joe (This is all you have to ask for)

He got it to me, in Australia, within 2 weeks.

If you call Joe, and tell him you have a 1990 Q45, and need a chain guide replacement kit, he will get everything you need organised, packed, and shipped to you in the blink of an eye.

He has had to send out many of these kits, so he doesn't miss any parts that you need.

Here's a pic of the whole kit, including part numbers.

PS. Please get this job done ASAP. I was lucky to catch mine in time.

Above, is a pic of one of my guides. As you can see, it has broken in half!

Below, is the same guide, placed back together, to show a chunk from the center is missing (in the sump!) So that's another thing to think about too. You will probably have to remove the sump to get all the broken pieces out of it, so they don't block the oil pump pickup.......

And last of all...... this is all that remained of the other slack side guide....Now, look at the size of the first guide... you can see the 2 tabs standing up, where the bolts go thru to hold them in place.....

That's what this is... one of those tabs... the rest of the guide? you guessed it, chewed up by the oil pump chain until the chunks were small enough to drop into the gap at the front, into the sump...

Please hear me when i say, get onto this job as soon as you can. It wif either chain jumps a couple of cam teeth because it's flopping around inside your engine, it will cause the cam timing to be out.... your valves will still be sticking out when the pistons hit TDC....... then you can guess what happens then....

You...> ...... .........

The picture with all the parts, shows everything you need.(Joe will know what you need)

I don't remember how much the kit cost, but I had to convert from US$ to AU$, and pay a large amount for postage too.

All it takes is a phone call to get a price.....

Just ring Joe. He is easy to talk to, and knows his stuff.

Think CA time. Anyone at IoS will be able to help you. You have all the part numbers.

Best to not even start the engine until you do this as most stress occurs at start. I would get the oil pan gasket also to have it on hand if you have the means to get to the pan. There are posts in IOM to guide you. You can return it unopened if you retrieve all your old guides intact.
