Whats the deal? I've been a member here for a little while. I hope you all got time cuz this project going to take me a year, unless some of you guys want to come down and lend a hand. But anyway this project is looking to cost close to 9,000 . yeah what a b*!?@. But the project will have Silvia conversion, KA-T, manual conversion, lots of power upgrade as well as suspension, electronic upgrade, fiberglass work, basically just a making the conv a bigger road hellyen than it already is. Hope you guys like the conv project. Sorry no pic until tonight. <-- Yeah this posting my project on here was my girl idea, so all the pic are taken by her.

I went with 10 and 12 inch fans, AR gets hot but not that hot 2-12 would be overkill

Choose the 30mm alum, conv really doesn't need the extra weight

Here are some of the goodies I got so far no special yet

Hopefully I'll post the new fuel line, upgrade from stock 5/16 to 3/8

I was wondering where you got the rotors from for the 26mm. I also have the 26mm calipers, but my rotors were just regular aftermarket stock replacements. Which brand rotors are you using and what's the part number? I looked up Brembo before, but they only had rotors for the 30mm and nothing on the 26mm.

BTW, great pics. Hope your project goes smoothly.

Love the pics and editorials! One day soon I'll be brave enough (or have enough time and money) to do an engine/5-speed/brake swap.

Keep 'em coming.

or get a brake pedal from a 5-speed too. they're not too hard to find.

it's a lot easier to find them that way. i was planning on doing the same thing when i do my brake upgrade... which, may not be till after body restoration also, it's what this guy did too.

anyways, looks like you chose some good parts. what does the rest of the car look like though? who cares if it's beat up and abused! a lot of our verts were rescued from neglectful owners.

Has anyone here used ASP pulleys? Any comments on it. The brake pedal is being replaced with a 5spd brake pedal. Like the new radar detector bottom left, sister company (Whistler) thanks Justin for the hook up

I don't know about ASP pullies, but I have the Unorthox for my N/A KA. It's gotta be THE best upgrade on my car. By far the most noticeable. I also have SRI, header, downpipe, exhaust, flywheel. Pully has to be the best of them all followed by flywheel. It's supposedly even better on turbo'd cars.

And about the 26mm rotor question.... I already have 5 lug cuz my car is an SE. I was directing my question to where and which rotor manufacturer makes performance rotors for the 26mm. Not necessarily drilled or slotted. I actually prefer it not drilled since it has very miniscule benefits. It's very difficult to find rotors for the 26mm. Many people have mentioned that they try to get 26mm rotor, but it turns out to be 30mm rotors. So the rotors I'm using now are stock replacements. I would like to have some better performance rotors (better material, not drilled and slotted).

BTW, if anyone needs the part number for stock replacement 26mm rotors, let me know. I still have it somewhere.

Luck must be on my side , after finding 300zx write up I investigated my calipers, there 30mm alum, and the rotors I got were 30mm, so don't trust what you get EBAY, just lucky that everything worked out. Hopefully I'll have pics of the Walbro fuel pump installation up When I get my ebrake cable and dust pad I have 300zx on all four post pic on that probably in a about 3weeks, still in the learning process of the working the powder coating machine. Last thing anybody have a pair of Silvia fenders they want to sell???? Fidanza Flywheel is inQuick Questions Strengthened Clutch fork pivot $25 <- Is it worth it?

Yes, you have to use spacers to clear z calipers, but before that I think you better upgrade your rims to 17s or something with a good offset. Well, I'm sure it's one of your future upgrades. Anyway, you can use 5mm spacer without changing wheel studs, but if you have to use 10mm up, you better swap stock studs with 50mm or 60mm ones. You can also get bolt on spacers too.

Really? It doesn't sound good. I'll throw in short shifter for sure when I go for 5- speed swap, so I need to know this too. Any downside on having shorter shifter on a vert?

Interesting looking project. I was wondering about that clutch clearance then read AZ's comment. Looks cool bud. Big projects are fun to follow.
