I was talking to my dad today about me keeping the 240. the 2 options are to either give the car back to the seller, or take out all the "illegal" parts and replace tehm so the car will pass smog. Theres no way i could do something like that to such a beautiful car, it looks like im going to have to say goodbye. It was fun while it lasted. sucks it had to end up like this. have nice night everybody. have fun with your 240s.

Except an exhaust (catback) shouldnt make you not pass smog, if you had a test pipe on the other hand...

That sux but there really isnt anything you can do.... just tell your dad as soon as you have enough money of your own your going to buy a moded car if he likes it or not

if i keep the car im going to have to turn it back to stock. im not too sure exactly what the mods are, i bought the car like this. its turbo, has a huge exhasut system, no cat, new fuel system, custom intake maniold, there is nothing stock about it. i took it to see if it would pass smog and one guy said no way. i found a place that would do it for me for the right price. but now my dads trippin. i'm gunna be one pissed off kid if i cant keep the car.

i mean.. most people (especially on NICO) would post pics of their new whips almost right away.. or sometimes before they even buy it.. and yet you have a "sweet" 240 and havent shared- not even when asked to repeatedly?

i'm not sure what exactly happened, but...If you bought a car that can't pass emissions and din't know it wouldn't pass, you can force the seller to make it pass. In CA, you cannot sell a vehicle w/o a smog certificate, its the LAW. Happened to me. I sold my car "AS IS" with out a smog cert, i get a call saying i'm about to be sued unless i pay. I researched and its true.

I say you do that or trade hella people for your after market crap for stock parts. people will have what you need.

go ahead and think its BS. i could care less right now. why would i be posting all this if i didnt have a car. and just because i dont post pics doesnt mean a thing. it means that i have better things to do with a car, like drive it, than take pictures of it. you guys are taking this way too seriously, i thought you guys would be trying to help, but i guess you're just too into your own thing. its all good.

This is why I hate most parents. I'm sure that even if you knew someone who would look the other way on some of the "off road only" parts, there is nothing you could say that would change your dad's mind. And I'm sure it would do no good to explain the theory of business and governent that expecets at least 10% non-compliance on all laws and regulations as a rule. The monitary implication for this is; for every 1% gained toward the assumed goal of total compliance, the cost doubles. The social implication of this; if every rule or law was enforced into total compliance there would be a riot. Laws are made to be broken, just don't be the one they catch breaking it.
