I got a good deal on some 17x8 +38 brand new rims. I just put it on my car to see how it looks and front and rear look great with perfect flush. I have a set of 5mm spacers, so I also tried with a spacer on and the rim sticks out little bit and I don't like it that much. Looks much better without spacer. I'm planning on getting KYB AGX with Tanabe GF210 springs. I'm also thinking about running 245/40 17 on all 4 corners. Here's my qustions. I have this much space between rim and stock shock in the front. Does 245/40 tire will be okay????

Just run 235s or 225s. 245 is too wide for those wheels anyway, unless you plan on getting some Azenis or similar track type tires.

235/40/17 and 235/45/17 are good pics. The 45 series is slightly taller diameter than stock, the 40 series is slightly smaller than stock. 225/45 is almost exactly stock diameter.

17x8 +35 with 245/45/17 Yoko ES 100s

Tire barely rubbed the strut assembly, used a 6mm spacer and has about 3-4mm clearence.

You really think that x8 +38 is flush? Maybe with the wheel in the air, but when you actually put the car on the ground it isnt going to be. Camber changes everything.

17x8 +38...

you need a 25mm bolt on spacer to make it perfectly flush..

Well, thanks guys. I appreciate your help and input. I'm confused now. Spec said this rim is 17x8 +38, but I don't think I need 25mm spacer to make it flush. This is what it looks like up in the air in the back. It's with 5mm spacer, so it sticks out little bit. If I remove it, it's flush. What do I have?????? BTW, the first picture shows stock shock. Will I have same space with KYB AGX?

If the spec on the wheel is +38 it usually is. They usually don't lie when they make it. But as said before, that pic isn't under load. My +35 with a 6mm spacer isnt even near flush...

as far as space with the shock... it will be about the same.

Got it. I measured the rim carefully based on this picture, and yes, it's 17x8 +38 for sure. I think I kinda kow what kind of tires to get. I'll keep in mind that it'll be different under the load. I can't thank enough guys.

The car is off the ground in that picture. It is probably at positive camber.

Once it is loaded with the car on the ground, and if you run like -1.5 degrees camber (good setting for rear), the top of the wheel will sink in like 1.5 inches from where it is in that picture.

Just installed Stance coilovers and I have way more space now. This picture is without a spacer. I'm VERY pleased with Stance coilovers.

BTW, I have a question. If you look at the above picture, upper strut bolt hole is slightly larger unlike lower one. Lower hole is right size for the bolt. Why is that???? I also looked up 240 parts catalog and noticed that upper bolt and lower bolt have different part numbers and prices. I compared mine, but they are exacly the same. Any ideas?

Just talked to Stance and got the answer. It was for the eccentric bolt. It's my first set of coilovers, so I'm a noob. BTW, man... those Stance guys are super nice...

Well, car is still on the Jack stands, so I didn't have a chance to drive my car yet. Water pump, thermostat and belts are being replaced. Will pick up parts on Sat morning. I put 8/6kg springs and set dampening to 7 out of 16 all the way around. How about you?

Did some research and it looks like the company called Ingalls makes camber bolts. http://www.ingallseng.com/index.html I didn't see other companies making them.

#81250 is their part number for S13 12mm camber bolt.http://www.ingallseng.com/parts/81250.htm

That's what PDM Racing carries for $32.31 pair. I recognized the part number 81250 in their catalog.http://pdm-racing.com/products/suspension.html

Found cheapest place and it's Import Auto Perfomance in Florida. http://www.iapdirect.comThey sell a pair at $19.99 plus $6.95 s&h. I hope this helps people looking for eccentric camber bolts.

Kudos on the stance. I'm Rocking the 9/7 springs with full dampning in the front and 8 in the back.
