so today i decide to take a trip to summit racing equipment in ohio to return a tach i bought that didnt work on my car. saw a few interesting vehicles. the first one being an 89 nissan 300zx. it was super clean and the guy in the driver seat looked like a douche. rofl. heres a pic of it.

another car that was on a huge turntable inside the retail part of the summit stor was a 72 datsun 240z. this thing was AMAZING! was one of THE cleanest cars i have ever seen. had the 3.1 inline 6 and 3.70 LSD. take a look at the pics i was able to get.

the 3.1 is an L28 block bored over .120 (yes the decimal is in the right place datsun made a strong block) using the 3mm longer LD28 crank (from the diesel maxima), with L24 rods and either machined KA24 pistons or custom forged pistons, the N/A's tend to be in the 250 whp range, and some poeple keep the compression low and turbo them for 450-500 whp

Nissan Motorsport used to offer a kit from the factory for this

i wish i got to sit it in. they probably would have hit me with a one of the giant cams they had sitting on a display about 10 feet away if i tried to go over the rail. and no d!ck, i dont have my 240 yet. its lookin like ill be waiting until spring to get it so i have a chance to save money. although, ive been trying to convince this kid i know to trade/sell his 92 champagne color coupe for almost 3 months now. this thing is super clean too. maybe ill just save bunch of money, buy it outright from him and do the sr swap next summer. who knows...

we laugh about that a little harder since a few run-ins with the local reno pd. they are not nearly as funny when you are in cuffs, on the curb, outside a casino......drunk.
