And when I look at those old bigblock motors with the carburators on them I think of my 67' Mustang with a built 351c in it. Then I get a sick feeling because I remember how the transmission blew, the timing chain skipped a tooth, the head gasket blew, and many other things went wrong with it. These things all happend for no good reason and made me question my ability as a mechanic. Now, Im an even worse mechanic and my little SR20 is screaming along without so much as a hickup, and Iv'e done nothing but abuse that thing. American Muscle sucks
The only powerful motors made in America that i would even think of owning is a newer Chevrolet LS1, or LS6, oh and for the gas eating daily driver motor that never dies, the Mopar 318... the rest are all dogsquirt. And would someone just tell Ford and GM to die or sell out to Nissan/Toyota so we can save money on gas and have reliable vehicles.
assuming it was a cruise-o-matic(who named those anyway?) i wouldnt consider that a piece of ford's finest engineering...the 351c is a brick though...then again our pontiac 400 blew the third day we owned it...now its running on a tank thats 1/3 sand, 1/3 water, and 1/3 gas...i really need to drain that damn tank
